Yay! I finally captured the perfect profile pic. Hopefully, this one will stay up for a while.
I have so much to do within the next two weeks. Sudden moves are a pain as it is, but planning to move 230 miles away and only for two months is even more hellish. Luckily, things are coming together. U-Haul wanted to charge me $400 to rent a truck. Fuck THAT. I've decided to pay $50/month to store my things.
A friend of mine has a station wagon, and she's going to haul the smaller stuff up north for me. I HAVE to bring my computer and cat, and I've also elected to bring my TV/VCR, tapes, some favourite candleholders and books, and a few other decorative items that make my bedroom MINE.
My parents' basement is furnished, so I'm going to live down there. They have my old double bed down there, so I don't have to worry about bringing mine. Yay.
I'm looking forward to this. It will be a good vacation, and my mom is going to feel so much better having me at home. I'm going to dread leaving again, but she and I both know that I have to return to school and my life. I've made myself a promise that even if it takes a second job, I'll get up north once every 4-6 weeks.
I have someone coming to look at my room tomorrow. Wish me luck. If she rents it, I don't have to pay June rent. The house has great amenities (like T1 internet access for $60/month per person and a washing machine and dryer), so that pretty much sold her. I have to fill this room sometime in the next two weeks, but all of the students have either moved home, have a place already, or aren't coming until August. This is the WORST time of year to find a renter. Feh.
I'm supposed to see "The Matrix" with my housemate tonight, but she thinks her friend may have pre-ordered tickets before she asked me. If that's true and the show is sold out, I'll just go by myself tomorrow or something. We'll see.
I know I'm babbling... I just have a lot on my mind. I have a ton of energy, and I need to figure out a way to release it. If I was living near Detroit again I'd go dancing at City Club.
