Yeah, it's all screwy. The mint keeps reducing the actual metal in our coins (esp. quarters), so often Canadian vending machines won't even take Canadian coins. Maybe if a 'common market currency' was limited to having the same size and weight of coins, I would support it. but it might be the first step of a slippery slope....
