I want to update but I don't really have the ambition. I've been working 12 hrs, like 6-6ish since monday last week, except for one real windy day. It sucks being out on the docks on the weekends, the parking lots are full so I gotta push my tools hella far (that's vegas talk, "hella"). Plus there's girls in bikinis and guys drinking and loud...

The pond stays. a bird ate all of the fish last fall and I restocked but killed all the new ones by forgetting the hose and shocking them.

A guy I work with has a zrx 1200. Silver. He loves it.
Some long full days at work for a change, and it's warming up too. Today was the first day the horseflies were really out in force. I even hit one. I got it with my hat while it was on my back. It buzzed around in a circle on the dock like it was injured and I felt soooo good about that. Then it just...

On saturday morning I remembered that Sunday was mother's day. That's probably two days earlier than last year, what a sod I am sometimes. I ammended my weekend plans, I thought Sunday probably wasn't the right day to get stranded between here & Nelson on the commando. So instead of completely tearing the forks apart on Saturday, I just drained & re-filled them. I rode...

The Ledge! Lubbock's best kept secret.
Hooray! The Norton has decided to grace me with another period of running well. I did a quick carburator cleaning this morning & it loves me again. I saw this saying somewhere: British bikes are like Italian women. Sometimes they stab you for no reason. I had no idea Italian women would do that, I'll keep that in mind. I also took apart the throttle...

I bet you look so rad riding that thing...

I also head that if a British biked isn't dripping oil, it's out of oil.
I saw a full-on mod riding through Boulder City on his scooter today. It was decked out in the usual fashion, including the mandatory eight mirrors. Most folks think those are just a fashion, but no they're completely necessary. You see, if you're riding one of those little toys pretty much everyone is going to be passing you. I kid because it's mandatory, but really...

Hi, liked your comment on the SGMC group about the grim reaper hing - very good!
Love that black Triumph of yours

Interesting exhuast wrapping thing. My buddy's an engine designer for 'em at the Hinckley plant- did you know all the exhausts are now manufactured in the Guandong province of China?
They're still screwed together and painted in the UK tho'.

Yay for afternoon thunderstorms, bring it on!

Tune in for latest chapter in the soap opera! I'm supposed to ride this thing to Austin in the next day or so...
The new carbs started pouring gas out the float bowl vent about 30 miles from home on Thursday. I rode home turning the fuel on & off to try to keep 'em full but not too full. Worked fine. Took 'em off & checked the float level. It was set to almost exactly where the floats will hit the carb above them & not travel...

I'm pretty frustrated with these fucking Keihins. Since I can't get parts for them from K&L and nobody at Keihin will answer my email, I've put a bid in on these.

sounds like a pain in the ass.
I can definitly reccomend the ZRX. The thing is just all about effortless power and steering. it just runs. I took mine out on some twisty farm roads this afternoon taking "40mph" curves at almost 65. didn't even feel the lean in.
The Eddie Lawsomisque paint job is usually offered. I just can't do the lime green and I love the black and grey scheme of the one I have. I'm kinda understated.
if you get the ZRX, you'll love it.
best a luck

Well fuck. Today was as bad as yesterday was good. First my guys decided not to bother telling me they were quitting. The first day in the last four months that I really did need an extra set of hands. I couldn't get too hot about it though. Because to start the day I SPENT THREE HOURS IN THE COLD ASS LAKE. I stopped shivering...

SWEET!!! Got home early today to find my new flatslide race carbs for the triumph on the porch, I really wasn't expecting to get them for a couple weeks. Coffee's brewing & I'm going out to the garage, it's going to be a wonderful evening!

YAY! I got my K&Ns today, just oiled and installed them (required pulling the carbs to do so). Now I'm going to suit up and go ridin'!
WOO HOO!

Nah, I'm still in carburetor hell, just air filter nirvana...
My bike came with Keihin CV34s. I need bigger pilot, primary main, and secondary main jets. The secondarys are the only ones readily available, the others seem to be perpetually back ordered. I'd hate to have to ditch these carbs just when I finally got some decent pods for them...
This could turn expensive...

Yay! I brought home the Husker Du "early years" LP, it's wonderful. Also the oblivions "play nine songs with mr. quintron" that's been on my list and a soundtrack to some film called "the sore losers" on sympathy f.t.r.i. that looks pretty good.
If you love me you'll buy me this turbo kawasaki ZRX. If you don't much care for me buy it anyhow,...

I hear great things about the ST1100, but like a lot of Hondas...yeh...it reliable but to the point of being a soozerocket.
the ZRX is awesome. broke it in with a 50 mile ride home tonight. aaaaaaaaawesome. It was really smooth but it shot off like a rocket without trying.
it is sooo comfortable though. the windblast hits just right to actually hold you up.

Boy that was the silliest thing I've ever seen in my life. Variety isn't valued very much. Everybody blips their throttle for no reason. Fashion tip: Even the hottest of girls look stupid in leather bikini tops.
What does LTR stand for? anyone?
Aha! It means "live to ride" as in:
FTW
and the always popular
NFC
I thought maybe somebody was telling me to "lose the retard" or "lets talk russian"

In what context? I just read your most humbling moment, serious lol about your username. I have a real flair for missing the obvious myself. My bike was a '73 and I only had it a few years before it got stolen. It was outside my apt with the cases off because I was working on the clutch. Didn't think anyone would steal it while it was apart. A consequence of my negligent lifestlye at the time. Maybe someday my wife will let me get another one. How's your commando?
