now we live out
where the street ends
in a basement apartment just like our friends
we always said that we were different
but you know now that we weren't
'cause there's holes in all the bottles and my lungs hurt
everytime i breathe
everytime i try to leave
everytime i breathe

Heh, Someone once said to me there is always at least one wierdo on the bus, but the thing is, when i used to ride, I often only saw regular types.
AND i always catch the quickest visual noone ever wanted to see, such as your above of the Glue Junkie. Sometimes people make me confused, sometimes a little angry, but you always make me smile

I didn't learn to drive until really late, and feel better off about it. so you are still awesome, driving or no. and you're supposed to connect with others. that's why humans are social creatures. at least there is a bus?

It's a slow parade
Down a dusty road
We've learned to take abuse
From devils we don't know

People who have lost all heart
Look for someone else to blame
You just keep on walking
When they call you a dirty name

All the mud in this town
All the dirt in this world
None of it sticks on you
(You shake it off)
Cause...

Thanx

Whenever I think of the brothers Finn I think of Tim and his stint with Split Enz, and of course to poppiest song of em all six months in a leaky boat. So thanks for the nice message to all of us and for allowing me to remember a rather upbeat song. Doc(GF) is off to the land of the rising sun for a few days and I find it the worst just after she is gone and just before she returns. So this helps

I hope ur settling in ok. Thanks for checking in. smile kiss

You're so right.

I'm always so down on myself!

God!

Why am I always like that?

I suck for being like that!

Ugh!

Well, the moveout happened, but it happened a little differently from my last moveout.

Moveout September 1, 2001: my caretaker Vince shows up at my apartment to do the moveout report. He's stoned, as usual. The man always reeks of hydroponic. He shuffles through my suite, commenting on features he hadn't noticed before. He discusses music with me. He frowns at my bathroom ceiling, grabs...

cleaning for a moveout report introduces you to just how filthy you really are. I knew I wasn't immaculate, but some of the stuff that I've encountered in my kitchen and bathroom make me think I should be caged. surreal

cleaning like a '50s housefrau with OCD. Or trying to. In reality I'm slacker bachelor with ADD. Let's just say there are spots of cleanliness...

Damn right you should be caged, you tricksome Trix! wink tongue ARRR!!!

I apologise for this lasciviousness - I am just back from the dentist where she had to ask how much I weigh because she was nearing the legal limit of anesthesia she was allowed to give me, so I am feeling a little wobbly...

Speaking of which, your story about the bleach fumes reminds me of the previous time I was living in Paris in a tiny one-room apartment of 12 square metres that was infested with cockroaches. One day I sprayed the room thoroughly with anti-roach spray, then went to sleep, and wondered why I woke up with a headache and feeling rather nauseous...

Oh Trix, I'd like to see you in your rubber gloves, all sweaty and bleach-stained.

Ok everyone knows about the republican convention in NYC. Everyone knows that security is crazy. My friend snafu013 is one of NYC's finest who has to provide some of that security.

He's been running himself ragged. He messaged in my journal this morning that he'd just finished 65 hours in 3 days and was leaving after an hour's rest to go out and do more....

new mom update:

The results of the angiogram are in: my mom requires triple bypass surgery, date to be set after a consultation with the surgeon. I'm thankful they know what's going on before she had a fatal heart attack. Lots of people don't get that chance.

On the me front, I'm at home tonight, sleeping in my own bed (which will be nice.) I'm...

Oh forgive me, Trixel! In a dunce move, I accidentally deleted your most recent comment in my journal -- and it was a doozy! You know how I love responding to them, too!

I deserve to be tackled! kiss robot robot robot blackeyed

[OK, I somewhat salvaged the sentiment by recalling the gist of what you wrote, if not the exact words.]

P.S. You continue to hang in there. kiss on the forehead.

when I was 13, so a few years back, my dad went in for a physical exam--mandated by his then employer, and they found it neccesary for him to go see a heart specialist. so he went in and they did tests, and they found he had a 90% blockage in one of his arteries. but they caught it ahead of time. he had surgery, and went on medications afterwards.
I know what you mean about the relief of knowing the docs have figured out a problem before it becomes critical.
I know your mom's condition is more serious, but... I don't know I thought I'd share.

be well, honey.

Mom update:

She had a stress test on a treadmill and did not do well. She's still in hospital, and we're not sure how long she will be there. At this point, we're just waiting for an angiogram to see if there's a blockage. Once the doctors have had a look at that, we'll have more information.

Thank you for all the wishes and prayers...

Oh yes, Scarlett is pretty dreamy, and solo cinema is a nice way to keep the distractions down to really get caught up in the moment. Love those whimsical (twisted) hopeful storylines...

Hope your mum's OK!

Heard the new Steve Earle? The Revolution Starts... NOW It rocks! He's starting his own talk show on Air America (this Saturday I believe).

btw: I peeked at your pix. I can see how you get your way in that orange shirt, but it's the glasses that really do it for me blush
adny:
Aw, my first friend! I'm not sure how that works yet...

Glasses, uh huh. Maybe it's a lingering librarian fetish - the hair in a bun, glasses slipping down the nose, climbing up on the ladder to... ah, that's where it comes from! love

Haven't you seen the "girls with glasses" threads?

My soft focus is on the close end - I can't read without mine, though driving is OK, and weeping at the cinema is much better without them... can't even think about contacts. That's like lying face down in the sand...

Orange, yes. It's quite becoming.

Small family emergency. My mom had a heart attack on Thursday, and insisted the nurses not contact my sister and I until Friday morning. It was a small one, a wakeup call. She's in hospital. They're keeping an eye on her to make sure there's no blockage.

I've been at my mom's since Friday, keeping a houseguest company. My mom's getting better. I wanted to...

To join the peace corps, I think you need to be a hippie. Do you eat seeds and wear birkenstocks? What are your personal hygiene/shaving habits? You may not be peace corps material.

You might want to consider selling blood. Or internal organs. Other peoples' mind you, but anyways - raise some cash. September 17th I'm accidentally organizing my first large scale LA event, something called the Virgo Sacrifice. Don't worry, it's far more decadent than it sounds. And then on the 18th, all these bands are playing here...
