An eternal staple in the sci-fi/fantasy genre is the notion of the prison planet. A desolate star in a far off galaxy where our hero (or heroine) dispatches miscreants to live out his (or her) days in abject misery (or at least until the inevitable escape, which always seems to be JUST in time for the next adventure,) Funny how that works.

You know where...

Inexplicable phenomena is today's subject.

How did this song ever become a hit?
Why was this show so popular?
Who told him (or her) he (or she) could sing?

So I'd like to know what you can't explain in the world of pop culture, It doesn't necessarily have to be entertainment. It can be anything, The key is:

I JUST DON'T GET IT.

Pencils ready....

oh you silly duck, you're not invisible! we all see and adore you kiss

i love it when i find someone who appreciates ron jeremy as much as i do smile i've never seen any of his porn flicks (although i loved him in boondock saints ) but his book is immensely entertaining. every once in a while i'll find a book that i love so much that i attempt to force others to read it (i do this with TV shows too....i'm responsible for about 15 new viewers of True Blood and Bones). this was totally one of these books. in fact, Amarena is my latest victim and currently has my copy of the book.

bises, dear

kiss

Some random stuff about me, and then a question (a veritable multi-blog)

1. I don't drive, I've been behind the wheel of a car exactly once. I was helping a friend by steering a car into a gas station for a fill up while he pushed, I nearly steered it into a pole.
2. I've never ridden a bicycle
3. I don't swim
4. I've...

Ezekiel 25:17

"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyrannies of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord, when I lay my vengeance upon thee."

Jules (Samuel L. Jackson) Pulp Fiction

This is not exactly how this passage is worded in the Bible.

A slice of life:

I was walking down the street the other day and I happened to look up and I said to myself "My gosh, that's Jimmy Peterson, why I haven't seen him since third grade".'

So I walk over to him, slap him on the back and say, "Hello, how's it going you old moron?, You drunken reprobate."

And he starts crying "Mommy...

I will start this post with a disclaimer, well, not so much a disclaimer as a statement of fact.

I mean no disrespect WHATSOEVER to the most recent crop of SGs. To are, to a woman, awesome, amazing, gorgeous, sexy and so deserving of the honor bestowed upon you. Bask in the deserved accolades.

I know staff has a difficult job. I couldn't do what...

Joke of the day:

Three men were standing at the gates of heaven waiting to get in.

When they were told they would have to give a Christmas present to be admitted, the first man, Don (although the name doesn't matter), fished around in his pockets and pulled out a piece of wrapping paper. He was admitted,

The second man. Juan (again the name doesn't...

Wow, a rotary phone! Now that definitely speaks to a place and time (many moons ago. Haha). The nostalgic part of me misses my old rotary phone very much. But then I remember how the impatient part of me hated waiting for the rotary dial to return after every number dialed. (And my home phone in the 70's/80's had almost all 8's & 9's in the number. It was a hassle. Haha).
