@wizard0 3 and 2 years ago, both summers, we had massive fires here in my town. In fact, I was nervous both years heading out on vacation (2012 San Diego Comic Con and 2013, I had to attend a family wedding in my hometown in Rhode Island) I was scared that we were going to be evacuated while I was gone. Last year, we had massive flooding. Parts of the town next to mine were so badly washed out by mudslides, that many of the roads had to be shut down and rebuilt. It's just so crazy how we had such bad droughts and then such bad rains that we went from one extreme to the other. It probably rained or snowed almost every day in the Spring, Summer, and Winter last year. I was so happy to get out of the rain at Comic Con last year, and everyone kept telling me to bring the rain with me to Cali. I was like, "No, I need a break from it, sorry!"
It wasn't bad the last 2 years, but the 3 years before that were really rainy summers. We have places here where it floods every year. We had one year, when I was a kid, that some kids couldn't get home because the road ended for like 10 feet. Just washed away. Our bus got within 50 feet of it. Some roads would have ice chunks bigger than my car blocking the entire road. I live right on a river, but well away from any flooding possibility.
