once again, thank you. i really don't know how you do it. i'm so done with it all, after bbs bs, usenet, then mailing lists. now i barely bother. but it's good to see you doing it so well. of course, it still doesn't seem to make a difference - it's as if people don't even read your posts before blah blah blahing themselves deeper into their holes.

Thanks for the kind words everyone.

And in other news: Giant, preternaturally round boobs! smile

i just found the most pertinent blurb:

Hip-hop singer Lauryn Hill accused Catholic Church leaders of "moral corruption, exploitation and abuse" during a performance at a Christmas concert at the Vatican.

Moral corruption, exploitation and abuse sounds similar to what weve read occurs behind the scenes, more often than not, in the hip-hop industry. Rapes, shootings, degradation of women (especially black women); you know the drill.

But then again, if hip-hop was booked at the Vatican, Lauryn may have a point.

of course, to add that to the thread would only fan the flames!

*edited because i ended up getting irritated and posting it*

The L.A. Arena Company, in its infitne wisdom, has decided to add to the holiday spirit by lighting the Staples Center green. Not red and green or even green with red trim, just green. No idea why, maybe there was a sale. Usually its purple, which lends a sort of downscale multiplex aura to the place. Usually hits not foggy and overcast either.

Ginormous green...

I see you've been feeling down
When I needed you, you've been around
So this year I've a Christmas surprise
that will make your spirits rise...

I think back on the times, when you've always been there for me
And when things seemed unclear- you did the thinking for me.

I owe you so much that its hard,
to repay you for all the good...

So the wife and I are arguing baby names in B&N. This of course involves props, to wit baby name books. I grab one modestly named The Best Baby Names in the World or somesuch and flip to the index only to find it had been highlighted. Extensively.

Some cheap fuck bought the book, named their kid and returned it. How many karma points do...

You know, I feel silly promoting the whole "ooh ohh latest fad!" thing after reading your reply in my journal.

Yes, I love that pic. It's got that appeal that adventure romance pulp-fiction books in the 60's seemed to have. "Betty Dryer Goes To Sarawak, Saves the Orangutans, Forbidden Love With Dark, Wiry, Dayak Man!".

I seem to be doing well in the environs, yes. But I'm going through a tough point right now.

Came across some free association stuff I wrote on the way to Indonesia. It'll pass for a journal.

Random stuff I hadnt really thought about since the last time I left the country:

While this is not my first trip out of the country since September 11th, it is my first since we invaded Iraq

Im allergic to Koreans

No not really which is good,...

Thanks for sharing. I wish I wrote down some of the random crap I think of when trapped on airports and on planes.
bean:
I need to write down more crap.

I also need to figure out how the available balance on my bank account dropped $18 between the time I parked and the time I tried to close out my tab. Thanks again.

Everyone in Indonesia smokes. And I mean everyone. I think they issue you a pack of Sampoernas or Djarums when you grow your first pube.

In other news, leeches aren't really as bad as you might imagine.
