Last night I momentarily felt betrayed. Though it was, in the end, not as it seemed, that feeling still lingers. Jumping to assumptions is often rash but how else does one arrive at them?

i hate that unfounded feeling. whatever it makes me feel terribly saddened, not only with the person (most of the time not actually causing it), but with myself for being such a whiny girl sometimes. whatever

A friend recently asked me if I wanted to accompany him on a road trip to the southern states and I must say, considering that I have neither reason to go there nor do I have much interest in the area, I'm surprisingly tempted. I don't know what I'd do in New Mexico, or wherever in particular he intends to go but I know that,...

So, this weekend, instead of going out and partying, I took it easy and relaxed. Was able to catch up on my sleep, eat well, and just generally recharge. Hanging out with my cousin, who I love but usually can't stand to be around, helped as well. That said, I am feeling much better today than I have in at least a couple of weeks....

if I ever got really filthy rich I feel I would undoubtedly do some odd things with the money. Like pay celebrities to finish movies the way I want or I'd have Tom Selleck make more episodes of Magnum PI. Actually, that was kind of like my dream last night, where I was some autocrat in a monacle and tophat buying everything I saw just...

Voltaire's Bastards is an awesome read provided you disregard the entire "reason" premise. I know that sounds odd but JRS essentially wrote a book renouncing all the structural evils of our society in which he somehow manages to repeatedly scapegoat reason, probably in some attempt to seem overly insightful. Just disregard the whole "dictatorship of reason in the west" premise and view it as more of a manufacturing consent type historical/economic analysis.

So I watched Donnie Darko for the first time last night. Was left feeling much though i had just watched Mullholland Drive. In other words, it was remarkably entertaining but none the less, I still felt like I was trying to decipher some Lynch film. Going to the doctor today for a checkup and am reluctant to give blood. Is anyone else a total aichmophobe?...

Nothing worse than having a friend capitalize on your generosity. I lent a friend, who's house I was partying/sleeping at all weekend my car (to drive 4 blocks to give someone a ride home) only to find out he totally misrepresented his plans and took advantage of my trust. Nevermind the fact that he left my car unlocked as that's an honest mistake. Let's instead take heed of of the fact that he took 5 albums from my car without asking, drove far enough to burn a quarter tank of gas, and likely did drugs in my car instead of giving someone a ride home. Now, he called me to tell me he borrowed my albums at which point I told him I knew he had driven my car substantially further than he let on. Sure enough, another excuse: went to the store for eggs and milk (with which I was to be made breakfast if only I had stuck around another morning whatever ) and nothing else. I find all of this incredibly hard to believe considering that, this weekend, he showed his true colors. This same friend continuously took a shot at condescending me in an attempt to win the favor of some slut he thought I was competing with him over, also tried to steal cigarettes from one of his oldest friends and even went so far as to renounce his ten-minute earlier partners in drug abuse so he could seem less degenerate to this hurting ex-stripper he picked up. (Ok I shouldn't say ex-stripper derogatorily but I'm mad) So what can I say, I'm totally disillusioned. I had always maintained that so and so was justa pseudo-idealist who had never once lived up to his own standards of fraternity but I never wanted him to prove me right. Now the question is do I drop so and so or do I explain to them that they've been caught in their lie(s) and that their credibility has been shot to shit, knowing full-well that they will just take it upon themself to earn back my trust? is it worth giving someone who's practically written you off for no reason a second chance? If my growing pains were enough cause for them to practically condemn me, do they deserve the second chance to make ammends? frown

I could likely write till forever about the events of the last couple days but instead I'll recap those things which perplex and amuse me. Also, I wouldn't know where to begin as my recollection is anything but chronological. Anyways, friend's house party in tsawwassen. Wanted to invite people but once I got there it became clear to me that I was at, for the...

Watching an episode of an awful show, Maximum Exposure a long time ago inspired this but every day I am reminded of it's validity.
Ever heard that tragedy is when I stub my toe whereas comedy is when you fall down the stairs and break your neck? Sometimes I feel that way, as though I am the demented product of some systematically cruel conditioning in which I am made to feel amusement at the expense of others. Learned indifference taught as humor by appealing to the lowest commmon denominator. Every world's worst whatever special, every episode of Jerry Springer, heck even Saved by the Bell are all indicative of a culture in which we take pleasure in the misfortune of others. Under the guise of entertainment we watch laugh-track ridden, 22 minute, condensed seminars of sadism. A society in which a nice guy is said to finish last and is labeled a "mark" whilst bad is good, and despicable characteristics are revered is where I make my home. A place in which the golden rule somehow became: he who has the gold makes the rules. I make my home amonst the low-lifes, the degenerates, the scum, the cunts, the filth, the dogs, and the shit. And I try not to emulate my neighbor though sometimes I fear I am an unwitting puppet whose strings are controlled by a system of oppression far simpler then anything orwellian or akin to the matrix or brave new world. No, I live in a world in which propaganda passes itself off as news, in which misinformation is greedily gobbled up by the unpacified masses eager for seconds and in which dog eats dog. These are troubling times and I fear my generation taking the reigns.

Pride is alot like a shitty friend who secretly resents you: though supporting at the time, it's just setting you up for a fall. And sure enough, it'll be so apparent in hindsight, you'll have no one to blame but yourself.

I'm at a point in my life where often, I'd rather make new friends then put up with many of those I have. Perhaps I've been a lathargic introvert for too long, relying on bonds not as strong as presumed to carry relationships. Maybe I deserve the treatment I'm getting from some of them. I wish I could accurately and articulately describe the descent I feel. Whatever the case is, it's less than charming to have people who you believed to be good friends behave towards you in a manner not befitting of even their enemies. It innevitably feeds my already healthy contempt for people in general. Lately, life has been making me feel pretty shitty. If I go down, rest assured, I'm taking some fuckos with me. mad skull
