I have begun to think that perhaps my mom actually was a little bit lucky being a single parent. Now do not get me wrong at all, I know she had such a struggle. I can only imagine how much she did have to give up - i.e. vacations, men, etc.

However, when I made pancakes for dinner the other night and remembered my mom...

Ooooh! You'll have to send me that pancake recipe! I too was raised by a single mom and she would make waffles for dinner some nights. We thought this was so exciting because it was the first time we learned you could break the rules of society and be creative and make hot fluffy waffles for dinner!

I think about co-parenting too. I wonder how it works. I think there has to be a ridiculous amount of compromise and trust, communication and letting things go. If I want to make waffles for dinner, dammit i'm going to because i remember how exciting that was as a kid. And if he wants to get them into playing sports or something, then I guess i'll take a deep breath and let them play.

I'm sure you'll find a husband that's all for pancake dinners. That's called 'compatibility' smile

(Reminds me of a story a friend told me of the time he took dessert before the main course at a smorgasborg and all the kids got in trouble for copying him. Such a good idea to get the desserts first, while they're still fresh and untouched!))

I alsoi think you will find that, depending on the age and nature of the child(ren), there will be times when whatever you do is *wrong* - and I don't think it would matter if you are a single or partnered parent ... confused

I don't know if it is PMS
Or because it is winter
Or because I had an emotionally tiring week
Or because bed is so comfy
Or a little bit of depression
Or I am fighting off a cold.

But I can fall asleep in a NY minute. I lay down and suddenly just want sleep!
I am going with the PMS and winter! smile

I like still being a dependent! And my receiving disability not only means that I will be a dependent for the next four years at least, but it has the added benefit that my mom gets to still use me as a deduction.

I am SO GLAD I will be getting a refund. I need it like fucking whoah. I should really file right now. Thankyou for reminding me babe.

Grrr...I'm not even going to look at mine for another month. (which will be when my last job finally gets around to sending out my w2)

Edited:

Because I just got what I needed from Vegemite.

And then read an old email from JayBlank.

Fuck I am lucky on this site.
I am really, really fucking lucky.

P.S.
Still Dear PTB,
Ummm...letting me win a couple grand on those lottery tickets would have made me feel better. So you kinda dropped the ball.

So I changed my mind.

Even years suck ass.
Clearly it is the odd that are the good ones.

I should have analyzed this better.

PS want to hear something gross?
I haven't showered for three days.

I have also only eaten takeout for the past three days.

Whine, whine.
Cry, cry.

Rinse and Repeat.

The new avatar is from Atlantic City. From a while ago.

It is interesting how emotional times can be just as exhausting as a whole day climb up a mountain.

Think, think, think, think.
I have to think and figure shit out.
And I have to try to really do so, take everything into consideration.
Got to figure...

I will write a blog which talks about how I met everyone on my friends list, it is interesting I think. And good to have memories.

Until then - howza about a little bit of love. I don't know a story about you, something that happened to you this week, the one thing you wanted to tell someone all month, or just a memory.

Here are two examples of how unpredictable my parents used to be during my oh so important college years.

I went to school in Albany; approx 300 miles away from where I grew up. Freshman year, I started dj'ing at the campus's radio station on the Tues nite 1-3am shift. My very first show, at 3am, I signed off and closed down the station. I left the campus center and started walking back to my quad. I see this car in the distance start to follow me then all of a sudden HIGH BEAMS went on and the car roared up on me. It was my folks. They had driven for over 5 hours just to catch the last part of my show......and scare the shit out of me in the process.

This story probably sounds sweet, but it defined my existence for the first 2 years of school as they would always drop by unexpectedly. They'd never call ahead....just show up and say, "Hey, we're in the parking lot." One time, it was in the winter, they had gotten a new vcr so they decided it would be a good idea to drive to Albany to give me the old one. 11pm I get the call "We're outside!". I put my dick back in my pants. I walk outside. They literally gave me the vcr through the drivers side window, did 3 donuts in the snow, and drove back home. Cuckoo. bok

It was after that incident I told them I'd appreciate a call before they drop by.
beau:
ahahaa I didnt know people did that tongue

And thanks biggrin
