RS's grandfather died sometime yesterday evening. While he wasn't too close to the man and doesn't seem to be torn up about it, send him good vibes any way. Yesterday was a tough day without him having to hear that. There won't be any funeral services.

That is an amazing story!

Time for a different journal.

I'm OK with working at the Tribune, it's just that I'm tired of feeling like I'm being passed over for people who worked below me. My friend promised to keep her ears open for any other jobs there.

In other news, I went shopping yesterday. I spent almost $200 (OK my grandmother who is visiting from Kansas spent that money)...

So a really good friend of mine got a job at the Daily Pilot in Huntington Beach (it's an LA Times affiliate). She applied for the job in November.

I did too.

Why'd she get a call back and I didn't?

Because she has more internships (Press-Telegram, LA Parent magazine vs. my none)?

Because she's had a better variety (PT, LAPM, college newspaper, college magazine...

I did not mean to give you a hard time. rereading what I wrote, well, it sounds way preachy. I'm sorry. I just hate to see you discouraged.

no worries. I was waaaaaaaaay overcaffeinated (studying - a.r.e. section @ 1).

I'm truly tired of dealing with morons, especially morons who think they are some how better than everyone else.

Point in case:

A guy at the restaurant insists on being a hard ass about sidework when he's responsible for checking. But if he's not responsible, he'll do everything in his power to get out of doing what he's supposed to. Tonight he pulled all the...

I'm feeling productive today. I got to the Tribune early (not as early as I would have liked but still early) and I'm already laying out pages. This is the earliest I've ever started that part of my job. Then again, I also know I have to be out of here by 3 p.m. today. I have to work at the restaurant tonight. Not happy...

That's ridiculous about the straws. How did your GM come up with such nonsense about them? Doesn't your GM have more important things to worry about?

Are you still planning on giving your two weeks? I can't remember if you ever mentioned how that all turned out...

I feel like I keep getting bad news all around.

RS is going to be gone the last week of March and the last week of April. If you look next to that picture of a cup you'll see my birthday is April 23 _ the first day of the las week of April. So, if any of you lovely boys would like to take...

Sorry to hear about all that drama. My birthday is the 17th of April I'm thinking maybe an SG trip to Cat & Fiddle or the HMS Bounty. whatever Though think we talked about that one time during a tattoo session.

How f*ing funny were those kids on those YouTube videos.. bahahaha I nearly pissed myself.

You could be the self proclaimed leader of the emos! I would have to stop talking to you but it would be funny? Maybe....

First off, thanks to all those who replied, but especially baudot, Jeremy and garagedelfuego.

I didn't go out with the old dude last night. I talked to him Wednesday and everything seemed OK. He wasn't being weird and squirrelly. Then I get to work yesterday and manager tells me the bartender for the night shift called out sick. I'm the only bartender who...

Update at bottom

I have a problem.

One of my customers, a gentleman of 70, comes in every weekend, sometimes alone, sometimes with a friend and the friend's wife. Lately he, the friend and the wife have been coming in with a young eastern European couple and the older couple's adult son.

A couple weeks ago the married guy asked, "If we went to theatre,...

Well, the where would obviously be at my place, and then when would be anytime both of us are free. All you'd need to bring is oil, a filter, a filter wrench, and a drain pan. I can help you get all that stuff if you need. What are you doing tomorrow?
doctashock:
I ind that those type of things usually work out one way or another along the way... you just have to keep your eyes open. Are they actually going to do prom this year? I could probably actually make it happen this time around, but I might have to choose between that and Coachella, and well...

On another note... did she say anything about me? Does she hate me? Does she like me? Should I just try to play it cool?

Normally I don't write about political / cultural stuff (at least not a lot as I try to keep this about my life) but on the drive home from RS's place this morning I heard the most disturbing news ever.

Parents are upset that Daniel Radcliffe (of Harry Potter fame) is the lead actor in Equus. Their outcry comes from the role calling for...

They're outcry comes from the role calling for the actor to be naked for part of the play and that the character blinds six horses.

for shame.

Children taking their clothes off should be the least of their worries. How many of those children are going to see this production anyway?

gangstaswan:
I have no idea what you're talking about. I don't make mistakes like that.

That's my point as well. From the morning show I heard this on, they did say there were photos of him "naked" but they didn't go past the happy trail (so no bok ). But this calls for parents monitoring their kids a little better. When I searched for the information, I didn't find the pictures immediately (I actually didn't see any) so a kid would really have to look.
