So I've been reading a lot of math books lately. Not textbooks, but paperback books about mathematicians that are part history, part gossip, and part lay-person's illustrations of the math they were doing.
Yesterday, on the bus to work, I came across this brainteaser that apparantly caused quite a fuss about fifteen years again among popular mathematicians.
It goes like this:
So you're on Let's...

I would switch, in most cases, that is the hint from Monty or the host in general that you didn't pick the right answer. Regis used to hint all the time on Who Wants to be a Millionaire if the contestant chose the wrong answer. smile

Seems like it's time for an update--but nothing's really up, so here's the first 1,000 words of so of the memoir I'm working on from my time in England.

Constructive criticism is more than welcome.

Expensive. Very, very expensive. (Not for me specifically...just in general. A very...upscale...mall.)

I still haven't had a chance to read this. I will. I promise. I just have a few things to get done before I can devote the time and concentration to it that it deserves.

So I'm tossing around the idea of applying to be an SG. Which is hardly monumental, but I thought I'd share.

Edited to add that my day, despite being productive (I wrote all morning, resized some photos of my paintings so that I can print them for a real live portforlio, and mailed a painting that I sold to a very nice boy in...

Shit, man, Ohio's gettin' the smack down from me. Who the hell is this Badnarick cunt? Or Peroutka, for that matter? (OK, never mind about them. I was doing crapppy math. They don't really matter. Bah)

So I went to court this morning. Nothing to write home about--I had a little chat with an assistant to the State's Attorney. She told me the case is...

All right, enough with the complaining. Life is good. I'm making some decent money at the rest-y-rant, I get to move into my art studio today and I've got Regi comin' through the speakers right now. What more can a girl ask for? Huh? smile

What's your favorite color? Be creative.

Jeebus, I am so slow. I had no idea about your huh. surreal I read all about C's and M's and just go about my merry way, whistling and thinking I'm smart. Duh.

My imagination is totally colour-based, I love it. I see everything in my head in a combination of hues.
Meditation is usually yellow and blue - basic sun and sky/sea. Yellow is a combination of heat, warmth, calm, it draws all the bad out. Blue is sanity, peace, it sweeps in and puts the good stuff back together in me. Blue is my favourite colour (or, since I need to write Americanese pretty soon, favorite color).
White is the breath I draw in, I exhale black. Orgasms are magenta smile
Hey, I'm a weirdo.

Okay, riddle me this, Batman:

First off, how is it possible that the parts cost to repair a bike that lists for $1795 can be over $3000?

And second, how fucking high do you have to be to do three grand worth of damages in four days?

They found her!!!! Apparently she's pretty junked up, but I get to see her soon. They pulled someone over, ran the VIN and it came up stolen (duh). They're "grilling him" as we speak and are going to try to press felony charges (wow!). I'll be sure to update as the story unfolds.

Update: 12:22am. They're bringing her over right now. The guy who was...

Well, the last 48 hours plus have been a complete emotional rollercoaster. I woke up on Sunday morning to find my scooter gone, which to a certain degree I knew was an inevitability since I dont live in the best neighborhood ever and Ive had to park it on the street for the last couple weeks. I used to keep it under the stairwell inside...

That completely is crap sweetie. F4ckin' lowlifes who need to enrich themselves by taking, in effect, your time and hard work. It is an evil, evil trait of some human beings to in any way feel no shame in taking something that is not theirs. I just don't understand it....sorry frown

Well, life rumbles on, day after beautiful day.

It seems at this point that I am rich in love but poor in money. And while it is of course love that keeps the worls spinning around, money helps when you don't want to starve. So if you have the chance, please send me good gobs of luck and keep your fingers crossed for my first...

No more whining. Today slummy is taking the day off of work and we're going to go to IKEA. (yeah, fuck off, I've seen Fight Club too. Bite me.)

Also, I am finally getting my poetry manuscript together to send out to publication contests. I have exactly 48 pages right now, which is the minimum for a lot of them. Others want 60, so I...
