I have decided to write a testimonial for you, but I am procrastinating. I'll have it shortly though.

I noticed that you aren't in the Socialism and Marx group, nor the Anarchism group on here. I realize that politics isn't the focus on the site, but you are definitely welcome in the Socialism group (and presumably the anarchism group, but I can't speak for them).

Saw Corpse Bride and enjoyed it. Unfortunately, the powers that be continue to ruin movies for me by showing trailers for the new Harry Potter. How can I focus on what I am about to watch when the tri-wizarding tournament is coming up!? Damnit, how!?

It is finally becoming fall here in nowhere, Illinois. Today was the first day you could smell...

So, today I became the Assistant Editor of our schools Lit Mag. Soooo cool. Like, over-all editor, too, not just an editor of one of the departments. Yup, 2nd in command, that's me!

I wonder if they meant 'assistant editor' or 'assistant to the editor.'

Oh well, I guess I'm happy either way. smile

I assume you got it from my journal entry on Nov 7th (October 25 in the old Julian calendar)here. It is Latin for "Here begins the new life." Sometimes people translate it as "a new life" rather than "the new life." The phrase is famous for being the first line of Dante's "New Life," which prompted a composition bearing the name. Hesse later wrote a work with that as its title.

It is spelled: Incipit Vita Nova.

In the Russian Revolution, some people used the phrase to indicate how world historic the events of October were. They saw the Revolution as the first day of a new future that was opening for them. Since it was Latin and a Dante reference, it clearly came into use from educated revolutionaries and sympathizers, but later was put on some posters and similar mediums. Western scholars discussing Russia will sometimes use the phrase to emphasis the scope of the changes in Revolutionary Russia and the sense of hope that motivated the people who participated in the events.

*sigh*

I am so tired of "Our hearts go out to the victims of hurricane Katrina." There is something that rings false in the myriad car washes and flyers and 'click here to help!' buttons. The sororities and fraternities on campus are each attempting to outdo the other with their shows of charity. The same sympathy contests can be seen on the various blogging sites:...

How do girls do that thing, when they walk by and you can smell where they've been?

I didn't know Audrey Tautou was going to be in the film, but I do now.

Okay, now that thats out of the way. Sickness sucks. Well, actually it drips and hangs and, occasionally, gets really rowdy with my head. It keeps me in bed. 'nough said.

So, here I am, pathetic. Her number is right here next to me, and she did offer it up after only just so much soliciting. Still, she said it would be a busy week and I'm not much of a conversationalist anyway.

> Whoa! Thats the same guy as the Dirtbombs?

One in the same! Everything Mick touches turns to gold in my opinion. I frickin' love the Dirtbombs. They are probably my favorite band right now.

Nerdy little secret #2:

I kinda dig the new Death Cab.

This is a big deal for me, the embittered old mmouse fan who was pissed that they had to play a park concert with death cab. I dont mind a band becoming an 'it' thing, but it kills the concert-going experience. The best thing about death cab being there was that i didnt miss...

Saw of Montreal last night...killer!

They put on an amazing show for a very small crowd (apparently there are only a few kids on campus with similar music taste). Still, the venue was packed and the show was super energetic smile

Tomarrow is Troubled Hubble. I'm iffy.
This weekend: The Paper Chase! and CSO in the park.
