Is today already Thursday? These days, they just end in -ay, I tell ya.

Nothing new on the job front, but did you know that there are some companies on Monster listing requirements for a Masters degree for a goddamn job that pays $8-10 per hour? mad

How long would it take to pay off the loans if you stuck with that job? tongue

My amusement for...

I had another one of those life changing experiences on Saturday.

Thanks to trilobyte, we had 6th row orchestra seats to see David Bowie. love

Amazing fucking show, he opened with Rebel, Rebel, and his last encore was Ziggy Stardust, and he played a ton of songs in between. He's still so damn sexy and talented.

Let's see, Strongbad, my computer, is very ill, and...

i miss chatting with you. find me on AIM sometime would you please?

Bowie is just awesome, it's been awhile since I've seen him live... I'm bummed I missed out this time frown

60mg Strattera is a biggish dose, I started on 20 mg for four days.. then 40 for a few days then up to 80... Your friend must have had a rough ride.

It feels harsher then either SSRI's or Amphetamines, it's a little edgy, with just a little tinge of pleasure for me.

But it does keep me awake, which is what I need...

So now i'm boosting Serotonin and Norephnephrine, and leaving dopamine alone... It's scary at times, but you only live once.

BTW Am I ever going to actually see you in the flesh again?

So I've been job hunting. Looking through countless online postings until my eyes hurt.

While perusing Craigslist, and out of sheer boredom, I clicked on the for sale: misc. category and found this gem-

Large Digiorno Pizza (Supreme) - $6
Date: 2004-01-30, 12:56PM PST

Bought it for lunch but my oven isnt working. Tastes just like delivery (or so they say). Will trade for sandwich....

***Edited to add that I am becoming more and more depressed reading the news and various sites about Election 2004. puke

So no job prospects on the horizon. Yet, anyway.

I've been doing my utmost best to stay cool, calm, and collected about it. The right opportunity is going to happen, I can feel it, and it's not going to be what I'd normally expect. Ooh,...

11 months....from Nov. 2001 to Octt. 2002. When the unemployment ran out.....I had to do something and at imes it's the best thing I have ever done and at others, it's really, really exhausting. I don't think I'd be happier doing anything else tho.

Things will come around again. they will.

IM me soon about the one day gig?
zac:
i can't think offhand about the longest i've been unemployed. i'm usually doing something, just that the job is usually shitty. i still can't find work in my field, mainly due to, at this point, frustration and a lack of motivation. i get comfortable too easily sometimes. though lately i feel like i'm building upa good head of steam again. things are starting to resonate right again.
i've been thinking about perhaps following out some other ideas that have been floating in my head for a while. problem is money tho, when trying to start your own shit up. and i don't have much of the green stuff. perhaps i'm just talking myself out of it.
ah well, i wish you luck.

Bittersweet.

I'm reopening an old wound and visiting a place that makes me reconsider myself in a major way. I'm not right, I don't have any answers. I'm selfish and insecure. But not always, I realised tonight.

I've posted some pics with makeup and styling from the shoot to take my mind OFF of things I cannot control. The first pic in my pics is...

Ok.

Please wish me luck. I'm going to model tonight for one of my favorite photographers, and I'm EXTREMELY nervous. eeek shocked puke

I think anything above 4 megapixels isn't meant to be kind to your appearance. That's my theory and I'm sticking to it, goddamnit.

Ashley Fontenot has shot some of the best out there, at least a few of my personal faves: Masuimi, Aria, Persephone, Kumi,...

I think this week is going to be about me getting subscriptions to some expensive issues. They'd better be temporary, and this unemployment shite better be as well. mad

Ok. Deep breath.

I don't care for UGG boots, trucker hats, "whiskered" denim jeans, Fubu-Roca Wear- Sean John etc., Von Dutch, 80's fuchsia (most 80's clothing for that matter), especially worn by people born when the clothes were made.

You're not old school if you've graduated high school within the past 3 years. Sorry. Brand new CBGB's shirts don't cut it. And you know what?...

What about a pair of Doc's, totally uncool blue jeans, and thrift store button ups and about three thousand ties and old man hats? Am I still in the Elizabeth Cool Club?

I actually have a CB shirt. My sister Atlantis had one forever and a day ago and somehow I ended up with it in my possession. I hid it away when the newest retro craze hit.

So tell me about this Ninth Ward excitement. Was it two lesbians on one bicycle and then all the sudden the three of you threw out vicious kung fu?
I must know!

PS: House of Blues rocks. I saw Thrill Kill there before. Next time I go home I'll have to say hi to her and totally seem like a stalker!

I think I'm invisible.

I'm in need of some answers, and no, not of the life, the universe, and everything kind. The answers I need involved cancelled appointments, future appointments that are now tentative, and just simple replies to things that affect my schedule. It's not like I don't have the time, but it's a matter of principle. Bleh.

Then again, this is humbling because...

I can relate to your frustrations. I've had those, well...weeks! Don't know the sources of your current dilemmas, but if it's any kind of entrenched beauracy (whether governmental or civil), I really wish you patience and good luck in overcoming their inherent limitations...

A good friend once said to me, "People do what they want to do", and it's proven to be one of the most astute things I've ever heard. I often think the best we can do when compelled to deal with agendas that oppose our own is to try to empathize with the obstinate person to see where they are coming from, then use that knowledge to approach them as they WANT to be dealt with.

Sorry to get all Dr. Phil on you here; I know all this is a big pain in the ass when you just want results, dammit! But this is the best way I know to get them in difficult situations. Good luck!

My friend Susan is in town from New Orleans, staying for a few days, and it's great because we've not seen each other since 2001, when we went to see Radiohead at the Hollywood Bowl. I missed her lots.

So I've got a job interview today, but I'm not sure if I wish to waitress again. How cliche would that be? Another waitress in Los...

I like spending quality time in real life getting to know interesting people.

Friday was spent doing just that. smile

Saturday I attended an informative acting class. You couldn't cut the egotude with a knife. It's just like I witnessed on Alias and LA, in general. It's so funny that I'm part of this industry, albeit low on the food chain, but nevertheless, part of something...

Hi! I saw you in my buddy Jase's journal and wanted to say hello.

So you've had bad experiences on "Alias"? It's always semed like such a positive, cool place whenever I've worked on it that I'm surprised. But your mileage may vary, as they say! smile

Stop by some time and say hi if you wanna.

In the midst of another bout of insomnia.

When most of the world is asleep, I come into my own. While the rest of the humanity has their alarm clock set for 5-7:30am, I'm having the most intense and detailed dreams. At least some of the time. It's always been like this, and I nearly repeated 10th grade because I could never for the life...

Hey Elisabeth,

Did you see Dirty Pretty Things yet. The main character is this guy who has to work two job and never sleeps. It's a great flick. I stay up late too. I find though that while everyone else is asleep I can get a lot done. Kinda of like the army, "we do more befoer 9am, than most people do all day." andyway stop by and say hey sometime. Peace - Jase
