Got to use the Atari with friend Eric; don't mean to brag, don't mean to boast, but I pulled off a 1-3 Warlords comeback and beat him 5-4, which was even more heated n ass-pinchingly exciting than the time I beat him at backgammon (he had one piece left... on the last space). My dream is to get another set of Atari-paddles and have a...

Hey Cheech,
I feel awful about taking any edge whatsoever off of your enjoyment of Dark Star for you by pointing out the acting. Sorry about that.

Just read Gibson's Neuromancer for the first time. It's a great read, but sometimes -- oh shit, am I about to do it again? -- sometimes his technobabble is so thick I feel like even he might not know what the hell he's talking about. But the acting in it is great!

I saw an Iranian movie at the Freer tonight, Tehran 7:00 a.m.. It was pretty nice. At the end, I felt like I'd awoken from a dream... it's not particularly mystical or abstract, it just has a reality-dreamy feel (and I was really tired).

memo to Kurtz-- no, I haven't rented the Village People movie yet. Soon, baby.

additional news-- this site http://www.secretlevel.de/submarine.htm is...

Okay, more LEBOWSKI info...

So, I was at work, looking up books on "the making of" the movie to get through an interlibrary loan.

I saw one on Amazon which had customer comments that it was really about the Coen's work style in general, not Lebowski in particular.
I then saw one that perfectly fit the bill, which was (of course) out of print. It's...

Love the Big Lebowski. Did I mention that I recently netflixed Dark Star and watched that a few times? Horrible acting -- about porn level -- but still, GOD, what a fun movie!

There's something fundamentally wrong here... I'm speaking of the dolls you cannot find in such stores as Tower Records. You can get a Marilyn Manson doll, or an Ozzy doll with gigantic muscles (how authentic), or Underdog, or Jesus Christ, or Bettie Page, or the Jolly Green Giant's friend Sprout, or Donald Rumsfeld or Anne "Evil Yak Disease Lips" Coulter...

but you CAN'T get Big...

Mean Gene Okerland? Fuck it, man. I dug your lyrics on my journal post. You've got a knack for bouncing English off of my gibberish. I like it. As soon as the crackmasters get a decent mastering of our shit from 2/01, I will get it out to you. What the hell else is going on? Newlyweds on MTV?? Whatever happened to gross out TV? Couldn't sell enough Noxema cups? Yeah, I've been drinking Whiskey but at least I'm not streamlining talent at Virgin Records....right, man??? Gimme some Val-id-ation, compadre!!!!

Are you down with Jandek?? He's my new comic book hero. Even more so than THE PREACHER or GHOST RIDER. Tally Ho TALLY HO!!!
rockinricky:
Meh, a expensive wardrobe don't mean shit, you looked just fine. It was great to meet you, too bad Virginia isn't smaller. It's probably going to be a while before the north and the south get up and have a drink again.

I almost bought a Monchichi yesterday...

but...

1. It's actually spelt Monchhichi

2. The eskimo one I wanted vanished from its website two days after I first saw it

3. They apparently all have a permanent pacifier attached to their right hands... that kinda creeps me out...

Some people might already know Im a fan of the 70s disaster movie, in general. Earthquake and The Swarm were a couple I saw back then as new releases, and made a big impression. As I told Jilly via phone, my fave moment in The Swarm, watching recently on AMC, was when Michael Caine was observing whether the killer bees were eating poison pellets....

As for the B:E:A:K:E:R cd, if you email me your address, i'll post you a gratis cd-r if you want? We never actually got round to getting them pressed. Just as well really coz now we'd be stuck with a few hundred copies that we couldn't sell frown

Towering Inferno....The Birds....Jaws....some great film in the 70's....those films almost allude to the fact that half the nation was snorting its lifeblood away....mocking the gods.....begging them for some retribution. You have to love AMC....any channel that will show tons of movies that you would never think to own are rent is a-ok.....A test evaluator---remember when you were kid.....and you took all the standerdized test.....I am the guy who reads over each of your answers and scores them.....IE-I am the final line between college and a job at Burger King for young kids the world over.....

Someone started a Thread about the Oscars (I contributed a terribly clever Comment to it)... I never like any of the Oscars movies. About the only time I was pleased by an Oscar award was Marisa Tomei winning for My Cousin Vinny. This is neither the type of movie, nor role, that has a chance in fuck of normally winning an Oscar, but if...

In a tribute to Estrada, I will say...

this is my new Journal!

I hope you liked it

edit p.s. - Oh, and there's a new Osbournes on tonight! At the time of the 3rd season, I thought it was horribly spiraling downhill, but watching it over the weekend, I'm re-stoked for it, and... look, you like your horrible reality show and let me like...

Hey, I read your thing in Ebin's journal about the good Mexican Metal... Made me think of Molotov. Pop them into Google or go download some. They're fantastic when I'm in the mood for them.

And holy shit, btw... I LOVE Darkstar. Haven't thought about it nor seen it in years, tho... wonder if I still love it. And I'll bet netflix doesn't have it...

One thing John Waters was wrong about in his lecture/ show last week...
Someone asked him about Dingleberries, the fruit candy product that he showed on a Letterman appearance, several years ago, that were actually poised to be sold in your local store next to Sprees and Sweettarts. He said last week that the manufacturers didn't know --the real meaning-- of the word and...

Dingleberries? Is that like hemorrhoids or something?

Anyways...it was a fun night at the SGUK meet. But...lemme check...hmmm...nope...you've disguised your true location. Anyway...I hear that about a dozen or so states have a very respectable local SG community. Of course the west coast has the biggest and bangest ones. I think california is split up into cities rather than the state i.e. SGLA and SGSF.

Check the Groups. There might be one for your area.

It's interesting watching this show on VH1 where they try to get bands together for reunion shows.

They were successful with getting A Flock of Seagulls to play, even though the brothers hadn't spoken for twenty years. I would've thought Mike Score, the singer, was too big in his business concerns (I'd seen a Where Are They Now? show on the same network a...
