Your journal is starting to resemble that of the Sadistic one. How odd.

I remember the first time I heard that song, I was with my mom and she rolled her eyes and seemed embarrassed.

Yes, he's going to make me have an aneurysm. Grrrr.
I spent last night in Richmond. The state capital! It was a low-key evening, since 1) less Summer traffic than in preceding weeks, 2) NoControl and I ate at Waffle house, 3) we were going to play pool with Isadora and infornography, but due to the strange, lunar-landscape-like desolation of the pool hall, they got carded for the first time in four trips there....

Okay, hippie alert!! - have to do that one today, because I went to see Festival Express.
It is a very cool movie!!

HA! You said plonker.
I think Fred Durst is a big dumb animal but probably not as much of an asshole as he's made out to be. I think Creed has a positive message. I think Andrew W. K. would be cool to hang out with. I think Eamon is a poser. This doesn't make for good music.
Uh, what "n" word? "naphthalene" weren't you paying attention.
"I love "black" chicks with "English" accents, even if they don't hunt zombies. I would like to "get with" Zadie Smith." You're a little heavy-handed with the quote and italic text button, No? Do you use air quotes when you talk? More importantly, do know the connection between these two women?
Your answer to # 16 in BrookeLynne's journal was very interesting. I wish I could think of something I learned in school. I'm not a fan of America's so called educational system.
Aside from the hippy bands (Phish) I'm a fan of your favorite bands. Not enough people have heard of Drive-by-truckers. (or Wet Hot American Summer)
I though I watch a good amount of TV but I haven't heard of most of those shows. If you're from Canada then I don't feel so bad.
Has anyone ever told you you look JUST like Bob Dylan! WOW.
Actually you look a high school teacher.

I know! I know! It's so sugary...but so good!
Other than Snapple, I make my own juices at home.
Why is that we can never find what we really want?
I've been looking everywhere for the movie The Flapper (1920). Norma Shearer has an uncredited part in the movie as well. But, no luck.
I'll keep an eye out for Gemma Bossini Stabile pictures for ya!

Very close vote for all the Nixons, except Richie... well, I guess you all felt he had his fun already (and is too dead to enjoy winning). Quite. Nixon did prevail, but Mojo and Dale were breathin' down her neck (lucky bastards).
Had a lot of fun in Polyester City last night. Wow, what another bunch of funn, unpretentious SGers! So far, met only fabuluss...

Well, yesterday turned out to be a hard SAT-esque Journal for most folks. I thought the logical progression would be easily picked up on:
Bernie Leadon
Glenn Frey
Joe Walsh
Don Felder
Randy Meisner
Timothy B. Schmit
...and, well, Don Henley was the answer. (coldenginelogic sorta got it right)
Today's test is a multiple choice one, and there's an SG in the answers, so...

Mojo Nixon. He made my favorite country song besides FAX ME A BEER. That song is, of course ARE YOU DRINKING WITH ME JESUS?
All of the other Nixons were fantastic but Mojo has the Mojo.

Wow, the Eagles actually looked semi-badass back in the day, no? Semi, anyway. Nobody who did "Seven Bridges Road" can ever be considered truly badass, in my book.
What are you up to this weekend, bruthaman?

No dude. Excel is a spreadsheet program...
I read something horrible in Fast Food Nation; reading the update chapter at the end of the paperback (in case any of you out there have the first edition, this is pretty indispensible). I've, in fact, marked off so many paragraphs of this section I could update my Journal all week from it. Well, here is a bit from page 287... I was pretty...

Thanks, I just threw up.
I saw something about that on 20/20 a few years ago (and obviously nothing has changed). They found some connection between illnesses people in Papua, New Guinea had contracted from cannibalism and similar illnesses Americans had come down with from eating cows who are fed grain mixed with their own kind. I think I remember the New Guinea disease being called kourou? and characterized by uncontrollable shaking. I don't know how many documented cases there are of Americans having this from eating cannabalized meat, but it's a freaky connection. I keep buying IAMS for my cats (which PETA was up in arms about for some reason or other---anybody got the 411 on that?) and 'free-range' meat for myself and hope I'm doing the right thing. Veganism doesn't appeal to me, but maybe if I do enough reading, I'll be nauseated into joining Olivia's tribe.
Are you still housesitting? How's it going? Are you giving the cat enough attention?
Thanks for the hurricane love. I saw local news coverage where people in SW FL had spray-painted "BRING IT ON, CHARLEY!!" on their boarded-up windows. He brought it. I bet they don't feel so cool now.
I'll keep wasting time on here, don't you worry. I just need to find my 'SG balance' so the husband won't say I'm on here too much. What-evah, I do what I want!
