I had the life scared out of me by next door's kitten this morning. I was in a world of my own in my bedroom and a small creature darted across the floor and went under the bed.
When I looked & saw its face peering out at me I realised it was not a rat after all. One of my housemates had let it in & it had gone off exploring.

That does indeed sound excellent. That may be the one thing I miss living in CA, a real winter.

Yeah, he's a funny guy alright. There're few comedians that I can say I've found just about everything they've done funny, and he's one of them.

And Nik's post in your journal reminded me, you ARE making it to the Halloween party? Don't be offended if I'm shy about talking to you, but ask her how I am at first around cute girls... it'll take me a few minutes but I'll warm up.

Well hopefully it'll be going on pretty late too. And if nothing else, we need to see if there's anything planned the day after while everyone's still in town. In fact, I should go ask in the group now.

... That of course is second in importance in band-making principles, just behind the "White Zombie Principle" - the chick must play bass.

As to seeing past teh emo - I am sure you do, but even if not, a male (or female, for that matter) who can cook will lead most people to let the sleeping dog of a coupla Cap'n Jazz albums lie.

M.I.A. is hottt shittt. And everywhere, almost... I hear "Galang" so often now, working a side-job at the cinema, since the song is being used in the Honda (?) promo that runs before the movie-trailers.

(Note: I do not begrudge her getting hers from licencing her song(s). More power to her.)

... But, yeah - the cinema is a surprisingly rich place for tuneage. White Stripes ("My Doorbell"), Elliott Smith, Tony Orlando & Dawn ("Knock Three Times") on the movie-tunes that play over the corridors and in the theatres (between shows), M.I.A. in ads for sleak autos. Good stuff...

The only possibly unfortunate admission I have is that Switchfoot is growing on me. Though I always sort-of enjoyed "Meant to Live" - I heard it toward the coda of my Buddyhead-reading phase, and for some reason I thought that the band singing that song was the at-one-time-Buddyhead-approved Revolution Smile - now, my enjoyment of Switchfoot nears total.

I don't know if the male of first photograph is your current boy, present boy, or past boy - you time-stamped the photo as being two or three years old, so he could be any individual or combination of the three - but is that a jeweler's magnifying device, or some such, in his hand and held to his eye?

I have not seen the Def Jam video-game. I havn't even really played a video-game with an any degree of earnestness since Super Mario 3.

I do know that Henry Rollins appeared as Vanilla Ice in the video for Third Bass's "Pop Goes the Weasel", though.
