I'm sitting home at my parents' house, wrapped up in a blanket, eating tea and toast for breakfast, listening to Defiance, Ohio with a mangy little puppy by my feet, and a big ol' fire in the fireplace. It's pretty excellent.

I had the life scared out of me by next door's kitten this morning. I was in a world of my own in my bedroom and a small creature darted across the floor and went under the bed. eeek
When I looked & saw its face peering out at me I realised it was not a rat after all. One of my housemates had let it in & it had gone off exploring.

That does indeed sound excellent. That may be the one thing I miss living in CA, a real winter.
