I finished the corset I was making last night. zoomusikgrl was right, it's not as hard as it looks. Of course, I made it a size too big. I tend to do that. Either the sizing chart on the patterns are wrong or I think I am bigger than I am. I used some care bear cloth I got on clearance for my first try....

I gather I should update with post holiday goodness. All and all it was a very practical Christmas. I got an amazing new sewing machine and dress makers doll from my family and new bake ware from dkmfc. I went to the most amazing fabric store on Boxing Day too. Quality fabric at wholesale prices as far as the eye could see! I got...

apparently, SG doesn't operate exactly like FB, which frightens and confuses me.

yeah, normal's a real place all right. i'm pretty sure some object of ancient power must be hidden here by a secret organization of utmost darkness. it's got some quirks... it's fine for the midwest, but... it's still the midwest.

cicero suggested that the true barbarians were already inside the gates, in the halls of power, actively working to destroy society for their own ends. of course, cicero was kind of a dick, but there's a "suburb" of chicago named after him that's grimy as fuck, so there's that.

danka fer the welcomes and friending. i'll try to say more interesting things, or, in lieu of that, just bitch and moan about the state of the universe. it's kind of what i do.
rott3nappl3s:
heh, i don't have much of an opinion on nostradamus, other than he was just a dude who made educated guesses based on his knowledge of history. i'm actually pretty interested in the "date-setting" trend (date-setters are those who predict, with stunning unaccuracy, the time of the end of the world.) people have been talking about the end of the world ever since they could talk. : D

unfortunately, the end of the world is just a metaphor for the end of culture, which is a reality, however distant. but that's fine, because there will be new worlds to come. things that don't have beginnings cannot have endings.

Oh some of the winners I get on Model Mayhem. Dudes whose profiles look like they were shot with a Casio 6 megapixel point and shoot camera. With the flash on. We call these guys GWC's. Guys with Cameras. I'm not a professional model, I don't claim to be one, but I have been modeling long enough to know to avoid these types of guys....

Thank gods for DKMFC! You look amazing in that skirt! Phew, I need to fan myself now.

Okay, better now. How was your Christmas time? Did you have family fun? And how's the Wolf-man? Swimming in new cute clothes.

Hugs and love. Any NYE plans yet?

My first boyfriend had tacked to his ceiling a picture of the band Switchblade Symphony. He was the one who introduced me to them and subsequently got me really into them. I remember when he gave me his copies of Serpentine Gallery and Bread and Jam for Frances. I was elated. He was merely dismissive and said, "I have listened to these too much." I...

I love seltzer too. It's better than sodas, but carbonation has its own health risks. Mostly, it breaks down calcium in the body, which is definitely not a good thing. I don't know amounts though. Also, can irritate the esophagus and stomach or make you BLOAT, ew. That's been my biggest/only detectable problem tongue
Good too though. If you're travelling, drink bubbly to reduce the risk of getting sick from unfamiliar bacteria. And drink bubbly to get drunk faster <3

It's an Iggy extravaganza!! Everything about me must go!!

No. Not really. But I was cleaning up today and found a few prints that I had laying around that did not sell. I decided that I am going to sell off the last of them here through Sg. I only have a certain amount of each and after that there will be no more. Also,...

Yeah, wisdom teeth can hurt. It'll be better to have them out sooner rather than later. The older you get the more issues that come with these.

Personally, I think you are hotter now than back then.

arguments between everyone in the house. owner is a recovering coke addict and he is stressed to the point where he took off to find some and i'm begging him not to take any while he takes ecstasy that noone knew he had hidden. the house is crowded with the crew members and some of them being completely rude. them giving him homework like getting the cats out of the house during filming and he doesn't do it or wake up in time and i am following him around for 5 hours trying to get him in the shower and ready to go on film and he won't get out of bed. then i get the wrath of him not getting up or taking care of the cats or washing the same outfit that he has to wear everyday. plus the fact i get no sleep cause they have been here at 6:15 to 10 pm everyday!!

Great look.

And being a secret shopper is being a consumer advocate. Think of it as the manners police!

This weekend was pretty hectic. I had modeling shoots all day Saturday and Sunday. It was a really excellent time though. The good people from the West Alabama Reptile Rescue were there with one of their snakes. If you lads and lasses remember, the last time I worked with their snakes one of the little bastards bit me. Not this weekend though. Go me!!

And...

Well, we are back from Pennsylvania.

In other news; yes, we were in Pennsylvania. It was a pretty rad time.

We took le spud to this place called Koziars Christmas Village. The place is basically this one huge copyright infringement covered in strands upon strands of campy Christmas lights. It had animatronic displays in petite cabins made up of old department store manequins and stuffed...

Warning: Relatively long blog post ahead.

I got a new watch yesterday! It's cute, no? I haven't worn a watch in years. I used to wear a spikey bracelet I got in England when I was 17, but I lost it this last trip up north in the wedding suit we all got ready in on the day of my best friends wedding. It was...

Last nights South Park was the best South Park ever.

Maybe it's because the goth kids burned down Hot Topic. I used to work at Hot Topic.

I am taking a break from katamari. It's vexing me. The reason why I am not allowed to play video games is because they frustrate me too much. I have a very low boiling point and I was...

dkmfc got me addicted to Katamari. That bastard. Now I have the theme song stuck in my head. It's a wonderfully absurd little game though. I like absurd things.

I went to Barnes and Noble this evening and got chatted up by an older gentleman in the Eastern Philosophy section. We discussed how we disliked Tuscaloosa. He explained he had only come back for a...
