1. I don't kill spiders. If I find them in my house or place of work I gently catch them and set them outside. My mother instilled this in me. "They eat the bad bugs," she always said. In fact, I saw one scurry across my kitchen floor this morning while I was eating my oatmeal and having my tea. I said hello to it...

In honor of the grand new tradition of blog themes, I have decided to create my own. My own theme, that is. Anyone can follow suit, if they would like.

I feel like music is an integral part of life here on Suicidegirls. We SG's are a proud and peculiar bunch of misfits, and I believe it is music that first drove us all individually...

@f1ssure, strangely, I had never been to Action Park, nor it's latest incarnation as Mountain Creek. However, I did frequently go skiing when it was Vernon Valley/Great Gorge. I was a pretty good skier, but had to give it up for horse back riding. Two expensive sports was just too much! lol.

It was Tupac for me at around the same age. I was worried that I had this layer of depth and pain that I always had to keep hidden because I thought people would think I was weak and a target. His music made me feel not alone in the world. I think it really got me through those years.

I read a short article in Scientific American today about how they have discovered organisms that live in the fur of sloths that could be used to cure various diseases like cancer and what not. And just when I thought sloths couldn't get any neater...

We think that our newest foster dog, Heather, may have gone into labor. The shelter told us she was expecting,

what animal rescue do you help out?  I've donated to Halfway There Rescue a couple times.  I'd love to foster but I work long hours and I'd hate to keep a dog in a crate all that time while I'm at work.

My first tattoo is nothing special. It's a small and insignificant thing placed on my hip. It was one of those 'picked from the wall things' that I got when I was 18 during the summer before I left for college. It was the whole of the experience that made it for me, that left me wanting more and more. This is a desire that...

I got my first tattoo in a similar fashion. I wanted to know what it felt like to get and have a tattoo and I randomly picked something small. It led to me looking like I do now.

"all of the women I have dated have also been bi, so it was never an issue."  cool!  "Lesbians, for the most part, will not date bi girls"  Kind of picky! :P

Some people use St. Patricks Day as an excuse to get drunk on a weekday. It is these sorts of people that keep me in on St. Paddys. You see, I don't need an excuse to get drunk and prefer not to indulge in negative Irish stereotypes. I haven't been out on St. Patricks Day in many years. Instead, I prefer to sit home and...

I didn't go out on st paddys either.. being 100% the whole 'everyone is Irish' thing is a little weird to me. don't get me wrong, I'm all for any excuse to get hammered.. but let's face it, us Irish are clearly the most desirable :P why else would  everyone want to jump on board!? :)
pyrdaemon:
St. Paddy's is my favorite holiday and always lots of fun. I agree you certainly don't need a reason to go out and drink but all the more reason when you do. Plus I'm only a wee bit Irish so it's nice having a holiday to go out and celebrate it a bit. One of my favorites was when I was in Germany. The Irish pub I went to in Trier all the time did an impromptu parade with bagpipes, it was a blast! This year I was just traveling through Seattle on my way to Japan. I just happened to find an Irish festival with live music, it was great. Really dumb drunk punk aside. Hope yours was just as awesome or more! = )

In honor of 'Woman Crush Wednesday', the following are some of my biggest lady crushes: @ameline, @temper, @sid, and @rocket. Those ladies are utterly swoon worthy and to die for. There are definitely more ladies I fancy, as I am fond of the fairer sex, but I am really quite exhausted at the moment. You see, I had to wrestle a rather large golden retriever...

Congrats on the job. I'd rather work with animals than humans but some of the time I feel like I do, the rest of the time feels like I'm working with kids. There's nothing wrong with a bit of lady fuzz, I'm not really into the clean shaven look. My fave is a tidy landing strip :)

You know, I enjoy these little blog assignments that @missy gives us. They enable me to express myself when I am at a loss for what to write.

This weeks topic is, "How has SG changed your life?"

I can say, without question, that my life would not be what it is without SG. That's both a good and bad thing. That fateful day in...

Iggy,  when it comes to Philly don't worry about it.  My late father called it the city of brotherly hate.  And he was born there!!!

I'm listening to Ritual De Lo Habitual. I haven't listened to this album in a hot minute. I remember the day I heard it for the first time. It was, in short, amazing. I remember driving around with my friends and getting into the sort of trouble teenage girl miscreants do while blasting it at top volume. The album itself came out in 1990. It...

here's a fun fact: before i moved east from l.a. i lived across the street from stephen perkins for several years. he was a cool dude.

Oh wow you're so awesome! I love Jane's Addiction! I remember seeing them at the Hollywood Bowl years ago with Courtney Love. Have you listened to Psi-Com? To get back on topic, I think living a life without luxury is far more interesting. I can't imagine myself wishing to change those times when I was at the brink. I'd most likely not have met some cool people if did.

Ahhhh...the good ol' internet way back machine...always good for those hits of nostalgia. I look back on what my profile said and what it looked like back then and I get all warm and fuzzy and confused inside. I've changed so much. Just looking at what was important to me back then and to think of what was to come after I wrote that...

My weekend was so wonderful that it has taken until today to update my blog. I spent the weekend at Clyde Barrows house and stayed off the computer and checked my phone as little as possible. Though I must admit that once I got a few beers in me I wanted to let all of Facebook know where I was and how cool I am....
