You know, I enjoy these little blog assignments that @missy gives us. They enable me to express myself when I am at a loss for what to write.
This weeks topic is, "How has SG changed your life?"
I can say, without question, that my life would not be what it is without SG. That's both a good and bad thing. That fateful day in 2003 when I finally got the courage to apply has drastically altered the course my life has taken. Without SG I would not have met many of the people I call friends now. I would have never met my ex in England. Hell, I probably would not have traveled as much had it not been for the people I met here. I wouldn't have been to Canada, or Ireland, or Germany, or France, or England more than once.
(I also would have not met my ex husband. Personally, I could have done without him, but I did get a rather nice blessing from that relationship, so I guess I should look on the bright side where that is concerned. However, I am still sore on the idea of ever setting foot in Philadelphia again, though I try to keep an open mind.)
I would have not have had the myriad crazy adventures I did.
I would not have the self confidence I have today. I know it's lame, that self confidence should come from within, but the various accolades I have received here through the years has made me realize that I am indeed beautiful; weirdness, madness, small boobies, and all.
The modeling is secondary to the wonderful people I have met and continue to meet on here, people like @ameline and @gaelsinger to name just a few. Every day, I am reminded that I am not alone. And that, perhaps, is how SG changed my life the most. I wouldn't have about half the friends I do if it weren't for this place.
So SG has changed my life and definitely more for the better than the worse.
And because I'm feeling nostalgic, here are some pictures from my various adventures that I've had!
Off to my first visit of America Jr. (hehe.) in 2011!!
That's @gentleman_loser. He really needs to get active on here again!! I would have never met him if it wasn't for this site. We've been friends for almost ten years now.
Le Grille!!?? What the hell is that???
Two pictures from my trip to Ireland in 2010. Unfortunately, I don't have more pictures from that trip because a particular ex of mine was in them. I would have never met him had it not been for SG, either. Him I could have done without, but it's all a learning experience I suppose.
Me at the Smithsonian in 2006.
Hotel bar in Cologne in 2007.
New Orleans in 2008.
Fun fact: I still have, and can fit into, most of those clothes. If I don't have them anymore it's because I wore the shit out of them and they had to be retired.
I was looking for pictures from my trips to London, but can't seem to find any. That is indeed a perturbing dillema.
