That's a little different than _that_ desert you're in there. I luurve that desert too.
The thing that sticks with me the most about deserts is the way they smell. God I love that shit. I love roses and Jasmine too, which is all over the place here, but there is something about the smell of cottonwoods blooming in the spring, or creosote bushes after a rain...dry wet watery smell. mmm mmm.
Are you seeing a local dance group or touring?

A strange and nerdy but sometimes fun place to learn sword fighting is SCA. They do more European style fighting but when you see two guys who know what there doing spar its just as impressive as the disciplines asian. Unfortunately a lot of SCA events are not very fun its kinda hit and miss.
