damn. I am sorry that you have to deal with the carnage. I just truned off the tv because this lame TV show was using graphic video footage of violence and horrific accidents as entertainment while pretending it was informative and supportive for a few of the victims. There were people laughing after seeing some of the footage. I can't believe I even left it on for five minutes.
I don't know if it will help, but maybe you can try to remember that those people laughed and enjoyed life too. If we only focus on that final destructive moment, so much sadness, I can't imagine how we can move on. But if we can remember that their lives were at times possibly wonderful, it doesn't seem quite so bad. I know there is logic to work this into something that goes against what I am saying, but I think it's important to have positive thoughts. Negativity and darkness don't lead to an unhealthy mind.
As amok says, I think its wonderful that despite the life you've lived you are still affected by the madness. I hope you don't ever get used to your job. I wish for your sake that it could be easier, but I think in becoming desensitized, we lose some of our humanity. Forgive me if I sound like an ass, I am not there dealing with it as you are.

and my journal was not ment to say that the people who lost loved ones in london don't matter, by any means. i just find it frustrating which moments of death and distruction people focus one. I find it frustrating that we, as people, pick and choose what we think are disasters to focus on. we get "used to" death that happens on a daily basis, and suddenly it becomes less important. i also find that the more foreign the disaster, the less likely people are to feel much about it. There isn't as a strong a disconnect between america and the uk. we speak the same language, and many ways of like are very similar. but the difference between america or london and the middle east is vast. and because we have a hard time relating to their way of life it is easier to brush off the terror that happens there are commonplace and the norm.
