Ahem… yo!
I am in what most would describe as a fantastic mood today! Why, one might ask… because I saw Slayer last night in Philly, wait, no, I saw fucking Slayer! Yea, that sounds a lot better. I’ve been a ‘hardcore kid’ since I was 16. I’ve seen Gorilla Biscuits, Judge, Sick of it All and tons of other bands more times than I can count, but still, so few shows compare to that of Slayer.
Killswitch Engage also played and let me tell you, they were tight! I didn’t think the lead singer would be able to duplicate the vocal tracks of the most recent CD (End of Heartache), but he nailed it. I only had two regrets after they finished playing… I wish their set was longer and that they would have played Vide Infra.
The best part of the show, by far, was the last 10 minutes. It ended in typical Slayer fashion, sort of, with them playing Postmortem and rolling right into Raining Blood, but something was added… When the song was nearly over a sprinkler turned on and blood (or a close facsimile) rained down on the band. Yep.

damn, judge and gb, i'm jealous.
I'll take a good hardcore show over a metal one... but man... there is something to be said for the balls-to-the-walls never ending blood boiling rage of a good death metal show. I can take one maybe every 5 years... and its probaby been that long now (actually longer).
