I've decided that Friday's are probably the best day to do a journal update... at least that’s the current theory that I’m going to roll with.
Monday’s are right out for obvious reasons, because the world is already filled with entirely too much negativity. Tuesday and Wednesday are soiled with the feeling of too many work days left to go and Thursday is like having a carrot dangled in front of you, just out of reach… so, yea, Friday it is.
I’m sitting here at work (insert “bleh!” noise here) and I’ve come to the realization that for the third week in a row I’m going to have to come in here on Sunday because of my slack-ass coworkers who can’t get shit done on time. I don’t even get paid overtime, which makes working on Sunday super-duper terrific!
Also, I’m still trying to decide if I should be happy that I recently got a promotion, because normally that’s a good thing. But, well, when it only grants you an extra $.50/hr which equates to about $1,000/yr I can’t help but think someone, somewhere did it just so they could laugh at me. Yes, I am shaking my head as I type this just incase you were wondering.
Summing up my weekend, my girlfriend is on her way to New England at the moment for a wedding or something. I tried to seem unhappy that she wasn’t allowed to bring a guest, when, in reality, I enjoy weddings about as much as running through a briar patch naked and then jumping into a pool of lemon juice. Really, I’m serious. So, that being said, hope everyone else has a splendid weekend and don’t forget…
