"dinosaur rock," "cock rock" "grandfather metal," I don't care what anybody says. I've been seeing this band since '83 (my second show ever!) and they never disappoint. Saw 'em last night in Mountain View and just tore the roof off! They'll always still be one of my favorite bands of all time. Here's some video footage from my cam with the usual shitty audio... YES! Tonight and I can't wait. REPULSION got added and with MUNICIPAL WASTE, it's gonna brilliant! I dunno how I'm gonna make it through work the next morning, but FUCK IT!
I had to pay Stubhub double the price of the face value of the ticket, but again, FUCK IT!
Too much going on this weekend, also got Lincecum vs. Webb Sat night and Randy... Read More
I saw that the start of the Giants game was delayed by ceremonies the other day. Was it anything cool? The Reds had their Hall of Fame induction ecermony on Saturday. I got to see Barry Larkin inducted, which was pretty badass.
Kool Dave, sorry for the late response. Barry Larkin was the original J-Roll. Yeah, the Giants had a special pre-game ceremony for their 50th anniversary. They already had an alumni day for the infielders and prolly what you saw was one for the managers, pitchers and catchers (outfielders soon to come) At one point, I almost had to fight back a few tears (ahhhhh....memories.) Kinda a bummer Juan Marichal was a no-show (because he always makes these things.)
I really hope that Volquez takes yer guys to better places. I remember my second game ever was the Reds at Candlestick. Rose, Morgan, Bench, Foster, Driessen, Concepcion. They were all in the line up. Didn't like getting our asses beat, but as I look back now, I was lucky to see greatness.
Ya never know where these kids might go, but as a fan I'm glad to have seen some future HOF's like Maddux, Pedro Martinez and Cal Ripken on the field in person.
Hey WrEtcH, hope you had a good birthday. I too, think the Sykes-era of Thin Lizzy is best - love Gorham and Robertson - but Thunder and Lightning just has more of a kick.
totally. I almost wanted to through a rock at my TV during this THIN LIZZY discography review DVD that my friend brought in an one of the commentators bagged "Thunder And Lightning" and said the only good song on the album was "The Sun Goes Down" (which is a good song, but c'mon!)
Life is good right now. I'm working again for the Post Office. Usually it's always been for temp, but this time I'm on probation to become a career employee. Kinda sucks it's 5 hours a day, 6 days a week, but I've had my fun for the last year and a half. Now it's time to make some dough and suck in those benefits.
i wish i was bergin county nj again i wanna get back to ny so bad to see shows. im missing out on lot of stuff being here in warren county it sucks. godd luck at the post office dude.
Take heart. While the Gigantes are sucking the bag your Ws are the best show on hardwood. Mad respect to you for sticking with your team. Its just got to get better sometime but meanwhile theres Cain, Timmy and B. Wilson (and some others, too) to enjoy, and they are good right now.
