So yesterday I finished the draft CAD Manual so of course today had a lot of meetings :D

Started cooking my standard diet again. Essentially I developed a particular "diet" that I can live with as a standard which is essentially healthy. Basically I make Lamb Stew and Bolognese to freeze in multiple single meal containers. They both have onion and mushrooms with the bolognese using capsicum and tomato and the stew using carrot and potato ple peas corn and string-beans. Probably sounds...

Yeah I was using the old "healthy" formula when I devised them, 4 servings of vegetables and 2 fruit per day. I understand they changed that to 5/3 but also the altered the amount that constitutes a serving from 100g to 80g. I am counting the tomato as vegetable and I eat an Apple, Mandarin and Banana in the mornings. It used to just be the Apple and Mandarin but I started getting night cramps so I added the Banana. As a standard formula it also keeps my food bills down :).

OK so the furniture arrived without problems. That afternoon I went to catch a bus to visit relatives. I was 50m from the stop when it came around the corner so I decided to run - downhill. That was a mistake as I lost my balance and went head over heels literally, abrading skin off my left elbow and the palm of my right hand. I...

For me a great week is one where I feel I've gotten things done. So this week I solved a programming logic issue which had me stumped last week. I finished writing the body of the Manual (Just need to draw the examples). I discovered a new functionality that I hadn't known about in Autocad. My furniture from my previous Australian residence which...

The previous week was quiet and last weekend (and this weekend) haven't been busy. However last week I managed to finish five Lisps and solve two issues with writing them, so it felt very satisfying. I need to push the management role aspects now though I think since the technical writing aspects are mostly complete. Plenty of work to do on them but it...

Last week was mostly boring. The folding single bed arrived and turned out to feel as hard as the floor. I tried to adjust to it but on Saturday discovered that air mattress' only cost $20 so I bought one to go on top and sleeping more comfortably now. Settling in and developing a basic routine. Work was about the same. I think soon everything...

So my job is a very mixed one. I have a small team to look after, I have project work to accomplish and technical standards to write. This last week was fixing up Scripts, Lisps and VBA for the standards. My programming experience is pretty limited since I'm a Civil Designer not a programmer and the VBA looked like it was going to be...

…. in the new residence. First though it was a good week in that I made quite a bit of progress in updating the companies drafting system and standards. Everything was booked to be delivered on Saturday. I bought cutlery and Pots and Pans which I simply took home at lunch. I chose a china set to be delivered. On Saturday I waited for the deliveries...

My application for an apartment was accepted on Tuesday. I got the message after I went to an apartment viewing and got soaked :). Thursday I finally got an email that stated my furniture was on its way from Australia - I only have to wait another month until it goes into NZ Quarantine ;). In the meantime I am going to buy enough to work with until...

I had a chat with my cousin who has moved internationally three times in his career. A three month wait for your goods is a low to average period even for short journeys followed by about a month in quarantine, in his experience. I just find it frustrating and ghastly, but it's not like it's something that I can do much about. I...

Today the weather was actually nice enough (and unoccupied enough) that I decided to go to the Auckland War Memorial Museum. On the way there I encountered a market stall selling glass bottles of Cherry Juice. Encumbered by a bottle, I explored the Museum again before returning whence I came :)

Had a nasty type of cold this week. Starts with a running nose following with a aching throat and constant phlegm in the chest that causes constant coughing. Horrible. Nose bleeds if I cough too much. Looked for somewhere to live made multiple viewing applications only had two this weekend, both were too small. Waiting for the All Blacks to splatter the French Blues across...
