As if I weren't depressed enough...
I was at Walmart the other day and I saw the most discouraging sight in ages. Working the register was a fellow English major. I know this because I actually had a couple of classes with the guy. So yeah. This is definitely not a good job market for people with English degrees.
The brace I picked up is...

So yeah, I had a follow up doctor's appointment for the antidepressants and figured while I was there is ask about the strange tingly pain in my left arm and hand. Apparently I have carpal tunnel. Fun.
On a less depressing note, I got to shoot for the first time in my life last weekend. We fired a pistol, an m4 assault rifle, and a...

I'm fucking losing my mind here. Still no job. I'm doing more cooking for the family since I'm not working, which is kind of cool since I actually enjoy it. I finally got around to playing fallout 3, I know I'm way behind but grad school was a bitch. It's cool so far, even though it hates me.
And a random hair monster appeared!

Man, it's nice being able to talk to another writer. My friend came in from Miami this weekend, and he brought a friend with him. I feel bad because I didn't catch his name, but we spent a lot of time talking about the different projects we're working on and venting about the difficulties of writing. It was nice having someone who knows what I'm...

So I made the decision to start playing skyrim again. And my god I forgot how addictive that game was. I had gotten pretty damn far before I stopped playing because of school, I had full dragon armor and was so far removed from the main story that I was working on a side quest within a side quest within the dlc. So I decided...

I know it's late and all, but I'm sitting here watching a Syfy giant squid movie. I tried to get my buddy to watch too since he's still awake but no dice. And it made me realize that I don't have anyone in my life who likes these cheesy creature features like I do. That really sucks. I love these stupid movies. Any other fans...

So my back has gotten better to the point that I can move again. But I still have to be careful how I sit or what I do so that I don't agitate it and make it hurt again (which I do far too often, I'm dumb that way). While I'm on the subject, @arroia hopefully you're feeling better now. I'm sending a virtual hug...

Day three or four, I'm not sure anymore, of my back being fucked up. I can finally move around, but it still hurts like hell. It really makes it hard to sleep.
I most likely twisted wrong moving some particularly heavy bags in case you were wondering.
I think the cat knows I'm injured because he's been trying to murder me for the last day...

So I'm not sure I have this whole "grown up" thing down. I'm looking around the disaster area that is my room after a couple of the piles of random junk toppled over... Thankfully my book towers didn't go down this time, especially since they almost killed me last time (I'm not kidding about that).
I'm sitting here surrounded by anime wall scrolls I got...

I seem to have written myself into a corner... I know where the story needs to go, but where I'm at I just don't know how to get there.
So today we discovered that the air conditioner was leaking into the house. It's 90-100 °F in this hell hole of a city, so having to turn off the air was the first shitty event of the day. Next, as I'm mopping up the mess, I put my hand on the light switch and it burned the crap out of my hand. It seems the...

TV and internet were down for a couple days again. This is being fucking old. Damn at&t needs to get their shit together because both times it was their equipment (not anything to to with the house) that was fucked up. This is beginning to severely piss me off.
