When did not taking someone's extreme stance mean that you automatically must be on the "other side" extreme than theirs ?

I'm reminded of how the '80s was dubbed "the Era of Excess"
...when people were buying anything & everything, even if there were cheaper options available or the absurdity of it pointed out
I'd already dub the '20s "the Division Era"
...when people were believing anything & everything, even after the Truth & Facts came out exposing the falsehood in the extremism
people were reactive in the '80s, jumping onto each & every bandwagon available - often expensively
people are now reactive in the '20s, jumping onto every extreme stance available - always explosively
*sighs*
WHY?!? can't people simply pause for a moment, allow the Truth & Facts to come out before reacting ?!
WHY?!? can't people realize that being reactive leads to destruction, chaos, & inability to reason, let alone realize ?!
aye, I thrive in chaos - but a controlled, fixable, realizable chaos...
THIS chaos is pure absurdity, reactivity
...with EVERY attempt at fixing & controlling it dubbing those who attempt, who try, as automatic enemies, the "other side" :(
honestly & - c'mon, already - as it's early in the decade yet, let's get the extremists to get their heads out of their asses...
STOP being reactive & cancelling/killing things that are honestly inoffensive and/or part of a different era's mindset
START respecting our history, realizing different eras represented different things & were a sign of that time period
BELIEVE that there are those who understand both sides, but refuse to give in to extremist "idealism"
DISCOVER that there are legal, lawful ways to change things - that intent & history are important - that not everything is what you initially see it to be
ANYways... I have my doubts this is the End of Division, but rather the Rise *sighs*, that Reacting vs Reflecting will remain on the rise *sighs*

2/27 : SOMEbody hire our state a fucking accountant - gov is claiming the state has a surplus... again... even though we went over 2x the state spending last year !
2/28 : when you make a film/show specifically oriented to a particular niche and/or outright gives a middle finger to a particular audience, then get PO'd that it only attracted a particular audience and/or didn't get the attention/approval of others, you can't blame others for it...
3/3 : Someone in my complex believes strollers & loveseat cushions belong in the recyclables bin - but no worries, we didn't have trash pickup this week because someone shoved TWO couches into the trash bin, which apparently = "put trash anywhere" as it spews into the parking lot :(
3/6 : Ah, nothing like readying to crash for the eve & the sound of gunfire in the distance followed by sirens to remind oneself the news am did warn of "protests" starting this eve...
3/7 : I love amazon - use it often, especially since local stopped carrying affordable/that'll last/made of material I can stand ... but since the year began, you've f'd up TWICE now ( 1st didn't get package at all, now send entirely wrong item *sighs* ) - hoping this isn't a habit :(

Just spent roughly 1/2 a fucking hour on the phone w/ ups because they fucked up a pickup & didn't (initially) want to admit their fuckup >:(

3/12 : oh. dear. gods. never knew auto-tune rap was a thing, but a neighbour down the hall is blasting it *shivers in fear* - doesn't help that ANOTHER neighbour is also blasting rap ( sans auto-tune ), so I have to hear this rap-with-a-c from multiple sides :( time to put on a flick
3/13 : just one more workday post-weekend before my 1st vaca "week" of the year - still hoping it'll warm up enough to be able t'get out & enjoy, gotta keep myself sane SOMEhow, right? :)
3/15 : for the next 158hrs, this station will be conducting a test of the early not-even-close-to-springtide-weather vacation system
so, nope, no plans on how to spend the rest of this week, beyond doing my best to keep myself as sane as humanly possible
3/16 : 1st day of vacation goal : I slept in 'til 6-6:30 :) hey, that's waking up late for me, so say what you will *smirks*
