Yesterday we got hit with a snowstorm/blizzard accompanied by outrageous winds & huge drop in temps *sighs*
yesterday am the news proclaimed an expected 2-3 inches...
we got 8-10 inches - with 50+ mph winds !
Couldn't sleep worth a shit last night - having to keep waking up to pull the deck screendoor back...
it kept getting pushed by the wind... through a drift that had formed! *Oi!* tough winds!
but I succeeded... since going to work this am it's stayed closed ( with a drift that grew through the screen *laughs* )
This morning was negative temps... with a windchill of -25° !! *shivers*
shit, it's currently in the single digit temps... but a windchill of -15° !
yeah... my apartment's heating is struggling like hell - it's barely above 70° right now *ugh*
( keep in mind, it's usually right around 80° - I like it warm )
I'll never understand how people can sleep when it's cold... it's utterly impossible for me to do so :(
I'm sure I'll have to run the space heater before I crash so I can get a few hours in
since my last post the world continues to be weird as the 7 hells...
my fitbit died... local & statewide lockdowns continue... yesterday's hit of wintertide hell...
kneepain in the right knee for about a couple weeks now...
random petechiae in the legs (and sometimes forearms) for roughly 2 months now...
all in all this has been a very *MEH* wintertide and I STILL think wintertide sucks :(
and - of course - as we near the end of the year we've either tied or hit a record of people I know who've died in previous years
the tally is (at least) 12 friends & relatives that died since this time last year
I may've forgotten someone or two - I don't track/write down them all like I used to in my younger years
but, yeah, 12 for certain :( *yeesh*
I only went to one funeral - for a co-worker/friend - whose funeral was literally just down the block
and - of course - to add to everything other friends & relatives have been diagnosed with cancer as well in the past year
at least 5 not included in the aforementioned 12 *deep sigh*
ANYways... still have to determine dates to use up at least part of the 4 weeks of vaca I have to use before September comes back this way
no, I have no vaca planning for 2021... simply can't afford it this coming year
yeah - it sucks - but it is what it is...
I suppose if I'm still intact/in one piece I'll have to make 2022 bigger & better ( or at least something )
I can't stand spending week(s) in the apartment doing absolutely nothing, BUT I'm going to have to suck it up & attempt to stay sane

11/29 : many states/cities, etc went into pre-holiday lockdown (again) - YET airports nationwide & highways/interstates saw record travel !
unemployment & rent/bill assistance requests at record high - YET this weekend had record sales, in-store & online
& the weekend's not over yet !
12/1 : it was a wonderful - and, yes, sad - service for a co-worker I thought of as friend... if only we could all be so lucky to have the same friendly, hard-working, ethical, jovial, & yet simple and sturdy mindset & attitude towards life as this man did with the same strength
12/4 : if you're uber-spendy 'stimulus bill' doesn't actually include a stimulus for those still employed or furloughed, then I'm gonna say 'no,' unquestionably - we're affected by this, too, & could use more support than the one-time minor help we received... stop ignoring the worker!
12/5 : give me a goal for 2021 ( as it's not even 4 weeks away! ) ... a feasable, reachable goal, of course - not some absurd nonsense or metaphysical whathaveyou or "see a doctor" unaffordable b.s., but an actual feasable, reachable goal within the reach of my abilities & skillset(s)

12/12 : just realized that sometime this morning my fitbit died... not like 'battery low' dead but DEAD-dead-no-longer-functioning-dead :( at least I gave it a good workout in its lifetime, I suppose - not as good as prior years, but still :) RIP to fitbit #2, gotta look for #3 soon
12/14 : I admit, I have an... unusual?... work ethic/mentality than many I work/have worked with and people I know -I far prefer working at least part of a day than spending 3 or more days stuck at home. -while my 'social structure' is largely work-only, 95% of convo is work related...
...I'll probably never understand the text/call thing at work, if I'm at work and it's not an emergency, it'll likely piss me off, I'm at work TO work -work 'breaks' largely annoy me & if I can I'll work through them, hells, if I could clock in & out at my desk, I'd prefer it...
...of course, I use up the vaca time offered before it expires, I hadn't in past employment & was largely screwed with time lost I had earned, BUT I prefer to have something to do, a 'stay-cation' will see me gone absolutely mental if there's nowhere to go/nothing new to see...
...weirdly, I prefer long(er) work hours & will work 9-10hr shifts sans aforementioned 'break,' probably due to my younger years of hotel & mgmt where hours tended to be 10-12 & constantly busy - while, yes, I kinda burnt out on 60+hr weeks, 45-50 I can deal with sans issue...
12/17 : To the friendly trucker at the intersection waving, who then gave a thumbs up when I waved back - if know you but didn't recognize you, "how's it goin', buddy?," if you're just a friendly stranger, "have a great day, man!"
