#1 - this is not a "poor me" post or a "could use help" post or etc etc... it's just a peek into the hilarity of living frugally & on a limited budget
I have zero stress about the matter... find it quite hilarious, actually
though - I daresay - the bankers seem to see it quite differently *shrugs*

if you can't laugh with me - or have any expectations of responses amounting to pity... no need to tell me, silence is your best response ;)

and let's begin the ride...!
beginning to wonder why I even go to the bank for their yearly whateveryoucallit...
all I seem to do is frustrate the banker(s) that - presumably - are expecting things to change ...at least for the positive *smirks*

stage 1 of the bank visit ::
apparently my "DTI ratio" is 84-87%, depending on how its calculated - which is, apparently, "bad"
...and it doesn't even include monthly bills (electric, gas, water) ! ( I thought it would, honestly, but they "don't count" )
- and, which confused them, somehow is that my "DTI ratio" keeps dropping... which I thought was pretty obvious once broken down
hilariously (?) they tried to break it down & see what could be eliminated or reduced - they had records of my previous visits & I had data they asked me to bring :D ::
1) yes, my per hour wages went up (yay?), 'course this also means my taxes paid went up...
2) in conjunction with my wages going up, so did my CS payments ( which should be increasing again as my wages just increased again )
3) even though I was excited that I reduced my phone bill with my recent switch, my rent has steadily increased per year ( rent counts, but not phone or other household bills )
...so - not a surprise to me, since I thought it was obvious - there is nothing that could be reduced ( I have no vehicle & no monthly 'luxury' expenses to remove :( )

stage 2 of the bank visit ::
they suggested the possibility of moving, so I had them "assist" me in figuring this out with a couple online searches
( keep in mind, every rent increase I've done research - and it's always been cheaper to stay... but figured I'd give 'em a chance )
everything within walking distance is in the same rent range for a 2bedroom as mine - this entire area has gone up crazily in just the past 1/2decade!
( and, yes, a 2bedroom is required by law if I want to continue to see my daughters, which I bloody well do!! )
if I get out of walking distance, then have to figure out how I can get to work ( since no vehicle, remember? )
...they didn't believe me when I mentioned how the bus service is limited, if at all, in this area - until they saw how it'd be almost impossible for me to work 40hrs, let alone the 45 I put in, if I took any of the few available routes
where I could... maybe... use the bus, the bus expense far more than exceeded how much I'd save in rent *laughs* ( which, again, I already knew )
if I get out of walking distance and take an uber instead of a bus would be even more expensive, no matter the rent decrease
essentially, in every scenario they looked/brought up rental-wise, rent+bus and/or uber would exceed current-rent

stage 3 of the bank visit ::
since this frustrated the bankers further ...and by this point there were two involved ( maybe more whenever they'd 'pop off' to speak to someone )
one suggested looking into getting a house & using a loan instead... aaaand, of course, I mentally thought "here we gooo...!"
and the 'winner' was... [drumroll please] I could be eligible for a 20yr loan (possibly!) - on a 10k home ( this I'd already known from a talk w/ a banker about home loans earlier this year :D )
mind you, that's not a down payment of 10K, but total of 10k ... as if there even are 10k 2bedroom homes in the Cities - let alone within walking distance !
and then there's the expenses of upkeep in said home which I most definitely wouldn't be able to afford...
it'd have to be one helluva kick-ass, perfect, no-issues, self-fixing 10k 2bedroom home !

I swear at that point the one banker left just to cry *laughs*
I was amused at this point, which didn't help but to confuse them as well
( how can one not laugh when one is already aware of how tight & frugal I maintain my life... )

I mean - it's "great," to a point, that they want to help... it's just they didn't believe me when I knew they couldn't

it didn't appear to 'help' either that my "net worth" is 0 or near-0 at the end of every month...
per the bankers, my only assets are my checking and savings accounts
...since, well, I own no property, I own no vehicle, I own no [etc] - which are the only things considered as assets beyond checking & savings accounts
while, yes, I will temporarily build up my savings account for a few months
...but this will then be spent on either emergencies or next-year vacation ( it never gets very high when end-of-month is normally 20-30$ remaining )
again, nothing I can reduce, so, well *shrugs*

- at least I don't have to worry about gold-diggers anytime soon ?
and, apparently, I can't consider my spawnlings as "assets" - or bodily organs, for that matter :(
( hey - I tried to throw some humour into the mix, since they were being depressing as all get out )

ANYways... that was my excitement for the week, I guess - my yearly whateveryoucallit with the bankers :D

who knows - maybe someday someone'll buy me a winning lottery ticket *laughs*
or there'll be some long-lost never-known relative who dies & leaves me everything ( presumably not bills ;) )
or - even less likely - some extremely rich woman will take 'interest' in me & support me *laughs madly*

twittage ::
8/10 : I may be getting my spawnlings for an extra 13hrs+ every one of our weekends together going forward ( Fri nights instead of Sat mornings ), as the ex-wife is intending to change workshifts at her new employment :) ... I don't mind this a'tall, love my li'l babes like crazy! <3 !
8/12 : of all the things '80s cinema promised, there's one thing that disappointed me the most : the lack of gorgeous gratuitous nudity - '80s cinema, I've been waiting for years... you have failed us all ! :(
8/14 : wth brain ?! ...memoria dreams bad enough, but follow them up w/ being middle-of-nowhere w/ relatives unseen since funerals surrounded by humanoid long-legged sucker-mouthed amalgams of vegetables & old barn wood ?!? ...wth ?!
