got the hotel set-up post-work for the April O'ahu/Hawai'i trip ... followed a few minutes later, unfortunately, with getting news of my good friend passing who'd been fighting terminal-stage cancer for about 2yrs now *sighs*
gotta take the good with the bad - they're keeping the news as down-low as possible until all of the family & friends are informed - but since no one I know is on SG ( that I know of ), it's safe to post of it here until after the news gets out...
gonna be a hard day at work tomorrow, even having known it was eventual - but at least he surpassed their expectations by over a year-and-a-half, though it took its toll... a mutual friend had been up north to see him a week ago and said he was doing very, very poorly ( he gave up the treatments a few months ago so he could just simply enjoy life & remaining time with his wife )
