by the time most read this, I'll be only 1/2way through this so-far gorgeous and enjoyable vacation :)
in Biloxi (MS) for the night ( and tomorrow night ) - the gulf coast beach across the street, which is absolutely gorgeous, btw
just got back minutes ago from the Crawfish Music Festival - I may not have known the bands, but they were all good ( Troy Cartwright, Riley Greene, Troy Davis, & Old Dominion )
...seriously perfect timing, had parked along the beach just a bit off from the hotel, talked to a fellow (from Michigan) who happened to work at said hotel and got me a deal
then, as he was telling me some historical and scenic places to check out, another fellow checking in said that right next door was a music and food festival
*demn!* if that ain't perfect timing, neh? it started just a 1/2hour after I got into the room... and was literally next door ! :D
the entire day yesterday - having arrived the night before that - before were wonderful, as I was spoiled rotten by my always-lovely and amazing family-friends ( love you so much Simi & Diedre! ) in the north shore Louisiana area
the little ones attached to me... such sweet and mischievious li'l things ;)
and met new friends to boot *smiles*
having just left this mornin', I already miss my lovelies and theirs - but the wanderlust had bitten, so had to venture on ( understandably! )
the trip down itself (only?) took 19.5hrs of actual driving the 1230 miles... with a stop at the Fruitland Rest Area in Missouri to rest a li'l over mid-way
so, yeh, I'm staying the full day t'morrow in Biloxi t'get a taste of the history and food and the beautiful beach t'boot
there's a lighthouse down the beach a bit I intend to check out as well that I'd seen when parked beachside !
on the otherside of where the concert/food was is the Davis home, too, so intend to check that out tomorrow as well :)
I'll likely continue on Tsunday east-a-ways and/or north-a-ways before I head fully northbound... loving the south <3
so that's all for now, my Lovelies and Gentlefolk, but I'll keep ya in the loop on the 2nd half as it continues/concludes

4/16 : I'll be leaving before the next snowstorm hits the area - and returning to mid-50s temps :) no, I didn't pre-plan this ( except for the trip itself ) :D
4/17 : worst timing ever: glass lens pops out/lens frame breaks on glasses! ... THANKfully I have my back-up pair, seldom worn so in good shape - albiet without the 'transition,' but from same 'version'... so will have to bring my "bug eye" sunglasses *laughs* so no driving blind! :D
