I find humour in it, assuredly, reminded of a time after my sister died and I hadn't been sleeping when a psychiatrist/psychologist told me I was unusual in that they couldn't categorize me and found it odd that I solved my own issues without outside help or medication
this is many, many years after some "friends," after a 'girlfriend' purposefully OD'd in front of me, actually tried to have me put away for being crazy in my mid-teens, wherein I was told that, no, I'm not crazy and am the most sane person they'd encountered, albiet with beliefs that don't fit the 'cultural norm'
*laughs* - yes, ME, sane ! :D
*ahem* ANYways...
my political beliefs run the gamut, depending upon the subject matter
I have democraps call me republicants and republicants call me democraps
I have liberals call me conservative and conservatives call me liberal
...all in all, I (no surprise!!) find it hilarious as the 7 hells :)
I don't - and have never - voted single-party... nor is it likely I ever will ( thankfully the state rid itself of party-aligned voting & ballots some time ago )
my friends and acquantances run the gamut of politics, religious & spiritual beliefs, sexualities, races, creeds, colours ( as if I could tell - sheesh! colourblind - hello! ), and other variances galore...
IF I judge them, it's by their actions and not the rest ( unless, of course, they dare push it upon me... that is NOT acceptable in the least )
I often enjoy the rare discourse with them, where our opinions differ greatly - but that only goes for intelligent, enjoyable, and humour-filled conversation, NOT the "my opinion is right because..." bs
( NOTE : if it's supported by truth and knowledge, you may sway me... but myth and hearsay will assuredly not )
I'm a firm supporter of the PD and the law
simply put, if you're a criminal/break the law, the law has more than every right to incarcerate/fine/punish you to the full extent
"protest" groups that break the law I have absolutely, ZERO, nada, zip, NO support for in any way shape or form...
laws, rules, and regulations are there for a reason - if you choose to break the law, I'm in full support of you 'suffering' for your actions and blatant stupidity
so, yes, I do - and likely always WILL - support the PD and all it does in serving and protecting the citizens and upholding the law
they should have every opportunity and be able to use all means necessary to get criminals off the street for the safety of law-abiding citizens
( this is not to say some laws have surpassed their usefulness - but there are legal means of removing said laws, LEARN THEM, USE THEM, as law-abiding citizens do and should ! )
I'm a supporter of immigration...
BUT! keep in mind I'm talking about immigration - not illegally entering the country ( support & upholding of the law, hello! )
I'm quite anti-illegal - having been a victim of those working under others' names & SS#s illegally, it is NOT a fun ride having to PROVE I didn't work at/haven't been to a certain state/town/place
...I was NOT about to be responsible for paying the taxes of some illegal - not should I have had to !
there ARE legal means and ways of becoming a citizen of this country... hells, it's more lax nowadays than it's been in generations !
*sighs* I could go on for hours on this, so I'll cut it short...
lest we forget that even immigrant friends/acquaintances of mine are of the same mentality, absolutely despising the illegals being given a "free pass" :( :p
while I'm not a supporter of illegal drug use ( again, support & upholding of the law, hello! ), I can say...
I WILL support drug legalization IF it's for strict medicinal use w/ state regulation AND appropriate under the influence and impairment laws applied
( this mentality obviously doesn't get much support from the recreational-drug-legalization crowd - "shocker" there )
I support freedoms as established by our Bill Of Rights, not least of which...
the freedom of - AND FROM - religion : we are NOT a religious nation, our founding fathers were of multiple beliefs ( and disbeliefs ), and religion has no place in the establishment of law nor in determining the legality of law
the right to keep and bear arms : yes, it IS a right "being necessary to the security of a free State" and protects a citizens right to possess a firearm unconnected with service in a militia for lawful purposes such as home self-defense (District Of Columbia v. Heller, 2008)
I firmly and wholly believe that religion has NO place in education...
with the rare exception of mythology/religion courses... which had DEMN WELL better cover in equal proportion ALL belief systems currently in play in the United States ( several hundred, worshiping thousands of gods )
you want to cater to a specific belief system, isn't that why you have "sunday school" and those type of things ?
congrats, there you go ! just DON'T expect it to be acceptable in the schools themselves
public schooling is - and has always been - secular ( sorry, naysayers, history disproves your bs )
you want to pray... go for it, no one is stopping you - BUT if you want school-led or teacher-led prayer, you're in the wrong establishment
...in this same regard, religious schools and colleges should not be given equal education treatment nor respect - particularly in funding !
education is important, particuarly in a growing society where people are largely given to ignore/disparage actual truth OR get it in their minds that socialization is more important than knowledge
to those mentalities I simply say Fuck You, YOU're a large part of what is wrong with this nation
I think that ID should be necessary for voting in federal elections ( and, quite honestly, state elections as well )
regarding federal elections, it IS the law that ONLY citizens have a right to vote... this equates to LIVING, LEGAL citizens
since criminals aren't given a right to vote, why should illegals - who are here criminally ? or the dead, who - unfortunately, yes - HAVE voted in elections historically :(
the simplest - and quite easiest solution - is to require ID to vote
the majority of citizens already have ID...
ID is required to rent or own a car, ID is required to legally WORK in the US, ID is required to receive services federally or statewide, ID is required to fly, ID is required to cross borders legally, ID is required to have a credit card or bank account
that kinda runs the gamut regarding how ID is pretty much legally required of all US citizens - and many states WILL assist those who do not have one to get one legally ! ( though unfortunately there are some that will give IDs to illegals as well, the only downfall to ID requirement )
so - HELSYEH - ID should be necessary for voting, PERIOD.
this is the one that tends to irk or disturb people - I think that true citizenship should require federal or state service, including military
it works well for many nations, giving their citizens a firm taste and knowledge in their gov'mt, how it works, it's history, from the INSIDE
this would, for one thing, likely rid a lot of the ignorant bs running out of people's ears and mouths regarding the gov'mt and military and how they run and work
this isn't to say all people are militarily fit, but there are a multitude of other federal and state services outside of the military that would work
you want to vote or receive state or federal services, show that you earned it, that you did your part for and as a part of this nation
hells, it could even lead to permanent positions within the military or gov'mt services, possibly removing a big chunk of joblessness
I firmly believe that marriage should be complete separated from gov'mt, state and federal, and laws related to should be stricken or re-written
marriage existed far before religion got a hold of it - even the xtian church, as much as they try to deny it despite the proof, had same-sex marriages occur many generations ago
BUT "marriage perks" as defined by state/federal laws and taxation have become so absurd and outdated there's no longer a place for them
if you want legal marriage recognition - fine, but understand it equates to ANY LEGAL ADULT of sound mind & body being able to marry anyONE regardless of race, sex, creed, etc
( hells, if you want to get into "sound mind & body," I could delve deeply into religious inanity and how a great many are quite obviously NOT sound in either !
particularly those who play the "this will allow people to marry children or pets or furniture" card, completely ignoring the ANY LEGAL ADULT portion, purposefully or ignorantly )
*ach* this has already become a book of absurd length and proportion - my apologies !
but, if anything, for those who want(ed) to know more about me and who/how I am, there ya go :D
...albiet just a portion of who I am, obviously there's far, far more
so - love me or hate me, my Lovelies and Gentlefolk, that's a bite out of who I am :)
Farethee Well For Now !
twittage ::
11/5 : I guess at least it's only 1/2 the indoor temp outside... unfortunately we just passed the "high" temp for the day *growls/shivers* - ugh!
11/5 II : per AM news, protesters "demanding" the President & VP quit by Tues ... guess they must really like Hatch & Tillerson after all ?
11/5 III : "thanks" morning weather for reminding us that last year it was 30° warmer than today - a'yep, that makes it feel SO much warmer *shivers*
11/6 : so, basically, the people that fell for the russian propaganda were the DNC, who put on the ballot the candidate who hadn't earned the spot
11/8 : in case we go somewhere that doesn't take cards, we'll need to hit a bank
"that's cool"
you guys have your ski masks and alibis set, right?
"what?"
nothing...
11/10 : I may not be a veteran, but many friends and relatives are or were... here's to those honourable, respectable, and chosen few who served and sacrificed for our nation
11/12 : hearing my daughter(s) getting dressed in their bedroom, it sounds a lot more like a Stooges skit than it should
11/14 : when your mind wanders, try wandering with it... it may take you places that will surprise, astonish, and delight you !
11/15 : suddenly inundated w/ "replies" & phone calls from dental places - oh, but they're not answering the e'mails at all, just telling me to "act on my insurance" now *yeesh*
11/16 : "soul-cracking weather
slows the blood and stills the mind..."
11/16 II : House passed removal of 'individual mandate" (N0bamacare Uninsured Bullshit Fee), so it's up to the Senate to pass it & make effective before tax season *crosses fingers*
11/17 : republican accused : demand immediate expulsion/resgination, this is not a joke !
democrat accused (-with proof!) : well, let's wait to see what the disciplinary committee has to say, it was meant as a joke
WTF - hypocrisy nearly as obvious as treatment of Trump vs treatment of N0bama
11/17 II : [State]sman to [State]sman :
"We don't have enough $ to keep all these people on welfare"
"shit... what are they gonna do?"
...months later :
[State] Unemployment At Lowest In Decade[s] !
11/18 : for those who were asking/begging/pushing for me to be on instagram - 'grats, I'm there... keep in mind I cannot actually post pics there since I only have a PC, no device :(
11/18 II : a half-asleep memory suddenly reminded me that I haven't had a slow comfortable screw ( aka slow southern screw in years )
...remembering the time a bar screwed up and used gin instead of sloe gin - and it became dubbed "Thom's Fuzzy Screw" :)
11/19 : knocking on my door at 5:30a, which I ignored ( they didn't buzz me to get in the building ) - lo and behold, a bs religious pamphlet stuck under my door >:(
11/19 II : good news : there will now be K9 units randomly patrolling the building due to drug use in the building
weird news : "thanksgiving services" is apparently now a thing *shivers*
(cont.) : and, yes, this IS a drug-free complex - it's part of the lease residents signed... and, yes, it DOES call for immediate eviction upon breakage of the drug- (and crime-) free lease agreement :D

unusualist - I have yet to find a religion and/or spirituality that fits my own personal beliefs... other than, of course, the fact I am a (fallen) god.
( y'just now figured out that I'm basically a non-practicing hedonist? "if it feels good, do it, if it feels bad, you're doing it wrong" )
( "I believe in the proven power of willpower and the truth we are the gods we created. No one being created this universe and its wonders." )
( "the words of wisdom I follow will be the words I've written myself based on the life and experiences that I have Lived, Enjoyed, & Survived" )
( "may the platelets of justice travel the bloodstream of villainy, clog its arteries with honourable vengeance, and induce a coronary of truth" )
( "we are all inmates in the same asylum, some of us are just better at bribing the guards" )
( "In a previous life I was the engine block to a '56 chevy, I lost my heart to a Volkswagen Bus... er, wait - or was that a '57?" )
( "Godfuck Me, Jesus!" )
"Just fear me, love me, do as I say, and I will be your slave..."
"Oh, man. I'm sensing something very canadian about this place..."
"It's all true, god's an astronaut, Oz is over the rainbow, and Midian is where the monsters live..."
Jax : "yay for you, do you want a cookie or a bozo button?"
