no, it's not the first snow - but that one melted within a day and did nothing more than dust the grass, this looks to be layering enough for a longer stay ( or worse ) :(
the Wintertide is not my "best" season, not by a longshot - it's arguably the worst season, though 3 out of 4 of my relationships occurred within the Wintertide
( though it's also arguable that that isn't a good thing, either *smirks* )
no, I've never liked the cold - never minded the snow all that much, comparably, and, hells, if it could snow but stay in the 50s or higher, I'd have little issue a'tall
but cold temps go hand-in-hand with the Wintertide :(
seeing in only shades of grey, I could positively argue that wasn't not buried is more clear and defined...
but that aetherial aspect is not enough to counter the negatives galore involving the cold, the bleak, the moisture-sucking wetness, the pain, and more...
no, I do not agree that it's easier to get warm in winter than cold in summer - quite the opposite, in fact
in summertide, I can always find a way to cool down with relative ease... in wintertide, it's rare to feel warm without severely limiting oneself ( physically or situationally )
so - complete disagreement with that all-too-popular statement on winter vs summer ( and don't get me started on what we all know is Duck Duck Goose )
elsewise, at least the world itself - while oft disturbing, disappointing, disheartening, and many other d-words - is ripe with humour galore...
even IF that humour is that of the idiocy of the "majority" of people ( or that of "majority" groups, at least )
humans are dangerous things, particularly when entrenched in their idiocy where it becomes fanaticism - but even that, too, is laughable
and, yes, I have laughed at the extremists and fanatics to their faces... and once-or-twice dealt with their physical idiocy
but - by gods - I would surely do it again, no question !
Oi! but the things they say - so inherently mockable that, gods know!, I WILL mock
who else - and how else - will they ever realize the inaccuracy, if not the outright obvious moronocity, of their words ?!
I'm not saying it'll sink in to all - or even the many - but at least I know there are others who think in kind and sometimes even mock in kind :)
not to saying my hearing is best, though I'm mostly talking about "their words" via the print and social media
aye, I will oft hear a word or even a couple inaccurately - particularly when words are spoken hastily or muttered, at best - and, aye, I will oft laugh at what my mind "heard"/translated what was actually said
sadly, there are those that are offended by my amusement at these mishearings... sadly, for them, as I will continue to find it amusing despite their offensed-ness - and unfortunate for themselves in their offense
it could be my aging - or my head damage - or a combination thereof, or of other factors, for I'm fairly sure it's always occurred as such *shrugs*
either way - I can't stop how my brain "hears"/translates these word(s) into an amusing amalgam of WTH and "that actually sounds cool" moments
ANYways, I will be largely offline next week as I will be taking the week off, a sorta-vaca, from work
I won't be that far from home, but I won't be home
...though I can easily argue that ~4hrs IS one helluva walk - particularly in Wintertide !
aye, it's an hour shorter than it would be to walk to the MOA, but that's a moot point ;)
it's all for my girls, so worth it - plus it knocks a week off of my vaca that I won't have t'worry about this coming year
so - my Lovelies and Gentlefolk, that's about all I have for this eve of snowfall
Keep Living Life !
twittage ::
10/28 : humans are pretty much idiots : recycle bin full of half-eaten food (including in jars!), styrofoam, and even dismantled plastic shelving !
10/30 : "what do you plan to give out this Hallowe'en ?"
probably very, very bad advise
"I meant to eat..."
I wouldn't advise that
10/31 : nearly a day later and no one's noticed the bad advise on the 2nd that was followed fourth ;)
11/1 : ah, those dreams of memoria which haunt and pain - thanks, brain, for the 'wonderful,' 'joyous' start to this state of November...
11/1 II : Helsyeh ! Complete Fiction Of H.P. Lovecraft finally arrived ( was on backorder ), couples nicely w/ Edgar Allen Poe Complete Tales & Poems
11/3 : last day of work (excepting maybe tomorrow) for a week + ... not your "normal" vaca, so don't expect t'see me online next week !
11/3 II : just a "light dusting that'll only be visible on the grass" my @$$ - everything is coated with a layer of white and the snowfall continues
11/1 mini-rant : "what's your cel # so I can send you a file?"
my cel doesn't accept files... or emojis
"if you go online..."
my cel doesn't have internet
"can I take a look?"
why would I bring my cel to work?
"what if someone needs to reach you?"
they can call the work #, it's pretty simple
"what if it's an emergency?"
it had BETTER be if they're calling me at work !
[ they finally walk away ]
