caught up with a couple months worth of backlog issues in the 3 1/2hrs I was at work mostly in the warehouse this mornin' *whew*
without the distractions and "hey, I need this" during the workweek itself, it's kind of nice t'know I can get caught up on the weekend when/if necessary
not everything on docket is done/complete, but if it ever did then what would I do anyways, neh ?
there ARE lulls when things are caught up and I'm NOT one of those that likes, let alone wants, to sit around and wait
it's annoying enough when I'm working on projects and get to the points where I can't continue without informed direction from others ( I don't have the authority - nor would I want to - regarding particular decisions on issues )
got m'self a wee bit of a haircut after I left work/the warehouse and was able t'get a burger the way I like it at a nearby bar
( it still angers me that there are places that won't make burgers plain with no toppings because that's "not how they make burgers" - seriously, I'm asking for something bleedin' easier, not harder for cryin' out loud! )
ANYways, at least I got to enjoy a good burger
between the two and afterwards did a bit of walking until I exhausted myself ( the time in the hot warehouse probably helped a bit, too )
no, I haven't taken a nap ( yet ), but it's taking willpower to keep m'self awake - after all, I have t'morrow with my girls and don't want t'wake up in the middle of the night and be tired all day with 'em !
I put in a wonderful '80s movie when I finally got back home... and should probably pop somethin' else in soon t'keep from fading, mentally and physically :)
as summer approaches, so do the random snippets of people I know/knew on how they can't believe I'm single/why am I not dating and other of that bs
accompanied - as usual - by the "shock" when I mention how the last time I was even kissed was in '07 when I still had my teeth, let alone "other things"
'course, they shouldn't be "shocked" since it's not the first time I've brought it up - do they seriously think it's going to have changed ?!?
the ones who do know me well should know better - hells, as mentioned before I've only been with 4 people, only one of which lasted longer than 40days, well over 20yrs
...and the one over 40days was my marriage - the only one that didn't involve cheating and, weirdly, the only one where we never actually dated or did things together
ANYways, mathematically the probability of me dating is unlikely in my lifetime and even halved or quartered is unlikely until I'm in my 50s
...and the odds aren't good of it lasting anyways ;)
yes, I joke about it - because I find the entire idea absurd... mostly the idea that people are "surprised" I'm not dating and haven't dated in nearly a decade ( it's not like it's the first time! )
'course, when I get on them about if they have friends or know people that would date me...
well, no surprise that they don't think anyone would be interested in me *smirks/scoffs*
I'm "not their kind of person" or variations on that theme
yehhhhh - they're "surprised" and "shocked" I'm not dating but don't know anyone that would date me... yeesh !!
again, I ramble and bring up the usual nonsense and incoherent babbling, so I should cut this li'l bit o'random bits to a close

6/2 : a sorta-convo at work brought up a memory of an employee years back bragging 'bout the moshpit and headbanging at a Good Charlotte show he'd gone to... and was serious about having done so, despite the inanity, idiocy, & ignorance of even having Good Charlotte, moshpit, and headbanging in the same sentence
6/3 : I take it w/ an extreme grain of salt when people talk say "best burgers," as they're usually mean the toppings, cheese, or semi-solidity
being a 'burger purist,' if the burger doesn't taste good plain with no toppings, then it's just another shitty burger, no matter the rest
6/4 : already an absolutely gorgeous morning - I do believe it's time to wash up and get a li'l walking in and enjoying the 7 hells out of it :)
6/4 II : after a couple hours walking as the heat rose ( thankfully not as humid as yesterday was ), I don't FEEL burnt but I guess we'll see :)
6/4 III :...and, yes, I am a little darker with the warmth of it giving me that feeling I've always loved from suntime spent - let summertide begin !
6/5 : when it's hot, I sweat, when it's cold, I sweat, when I talk ( phone or face-to-face ) I sweat - pretty sure my mutant ability is: sweating
6/6 : I suppose there is a sad edge being used to talking about "that friend who died" and having to say "no, not that friend" multiple times :(
6/7 : You MIGHT say I got a li'l sweaty on today's afterwork walk - but I also got in a beer and burger in addition to the 5 miles walked :)
6/8 : a bus is broken down in front of work - the EXACT same bus # ( diff driver ) that broke down 2 weeks ago... guess it wasn't a permanent fix
6/10 : 6a and nearly 80° with an expected high of 97° ... gonna be a broiler - and an inside weekend with the spawnlings, no question !
6/12 : a mere month away from the next big vaca - technically 4 weeks & 2 days - and last one for the year ( also 4 weeks & 5 days from Denver! )
6/14 : no, I don't have a 'bucket list' - I do what I can afford to do, so unless I win a lottery what I can afford to do won't change, thus moot
6/16 : SOMEbody in the building either made or bought fresh biscuits... I can SMELL 'em - and it smells DEMN good ! *suddenly hungry*
6/17 : a few hours in the warehouse, a walk, a haircut, and a burger... finally home and exhausted - need a nap before my daughters come tomorrow
