I'm no stranger to death... 2012 being the only year since '88 that I didn't know someone who died...
and, no, this year hasn't been a record - lost more people I knew this year than I have fingers on one hand, but the 'record year' was 12 people that I was aware of
ANYways and nonetheless, it's been... a year
of this years' deaths (of people I knew), there are always ones that stood out :
my cousin JoAnne, who died months before we had planned to visit over the summer
friend - and first kiss - Jenny, who was my oldest friend ( we knew each other longer than I am capable of remembering )
these were the ones that mattered most, ones it's unlikely I'll ever forget
RIP JoAnne & Jenny, and to all that've passed this year
aye and 'course, there's always the slate of celebrity deaths, which've been pretty insane this year as well :
Lemmy was technically last year, but close enough
Angus Scrimm, David Bowie, Alan Rickman, Vanity, George Gaynes, Prince, Muhammad Ali/Cassius Clay, Anton Yelchin, Kenny Baker, Gene Wilder, Leonard Cohen, Fidel Castro, Don Calfa, John Glenn, Alan Thicke, Zsa Zsa Gabor, George Michael...
David Bowie, Lemmy, and Prince alike were influences to my 'musical mentality' - particularly Bowie
...I never got to see any of them live, particularly saddening when it comes to Bowie - would've killed to see him live
some were childhood heroes or people I enjoyed being witness to/listening to - most were iconic
and less than a week remains of the year, so there's still... possibility... unfortunately
we can always hope not - seriously hope not
it's been a year of good things and bad things, but isn't that the case with all years as they pass ?
some more good than bad, thankfully, others the inverse
this year - other than the aforementioned personal deaths that clenched tightly upon my heartstrings - has been pretty good overall
and, I must admit, I'm looking forward to what this next year has to offer
I doubt it'll be easy - but no good year ever is !
We'll talk again soon, My Lovelies and Gentlefolk !
couple days of twits :
12/24 :
hate to admit, but I've reached that point in life where even some L shirts won't fit *sighs* - co-workers have become afraid of my buttons
12/24 II :
"you don't celebrate [xmas]? think about your daughters!"
they're cooler with it than most people I know, so leave 'em outta your bitchfest
12/25 :
whenever you think 'what the hell is wrong with my life,' remember : there are people paid to take selfies and people paid to protest !
12/25 II :
'what do [I] enjoy about today,' you ask ? I can shower and not have to get dressed because there's nowhere open to go in the first place !
12/25 III :
random knock on door, pull on pants & answer: some random dude (new neighbour?) asks for password to my WiFi... yehhh, don't think so, man!

unusualist - I have yet to find a religion and/or spirituality that fits my own personal beliefs... other than, of course, the fact I am a (fallen) god.
