Helluva Week/Approaching Forty : The 39 Week 51 Round Up/Update [T39W51RU/U]
*whew* helluva week... exhausting, but - I think - fruitful and successful.
on the workfront, the last week of any month can be crazy, but finishing up (or trying to) with projects adds another level... one set of goals complete with more to come.
on the homefront, the week began with storm-after-storm-after-storm and oppressive heat (yay! summer!) but by Wednesday they (finally?) installed new A/C in...
now, mind you, I'm not a fan of the cold and will take heat over cold any day... but with nearly 2 weeks of an apartment in the 90s or hotter - Oi! feels GOOD!
and - of course - since I have my daughters this weekend, the A/C was a necessary, to say the least
even if they could handle the heat like I'm capable of (which they can't), I wouldn't suffer them such measures
since the storms, my phone's been semi-wonky, so local calls are fine but all long distance calls come across as static only
this has (humerously?) pissed off some people, but *meh* so be it... I seldom answer my phone anyways unless it's my daughters and they're local
which means, of course, that I've had a bevy of static messages all week ... and one local message *laughs*
yes, I find it humerous... don't know if it's the phone lines or just my phone but, for now, fuck it - I kinda like it
most people have their celphones anyway, I'm just not one of those (nor do I intend to be until the day comes I absolutely have to)
ANYways...
we're gettin' closer and closer to the next round of Round Up/Updates - from 39 to 40 *whew* - and what a ride it's been!
in a week (and less a day) it'll be the 4th, which I have off, then I work the 5th and don't return until the 10th...
why, you may ask?
(heh) actually, more likely, you're not asking but I'll just go ahead with it anyways
I took my b'day and the day prior off, as it's one of those b'days perceived by most people as an "important one"
(some co-workers had already pre-plotted something and I put that one to ground)
... so I made it a 4day weekend in which I can simply... disappear... if I so choose/as I desire
monetarily I probably won't be able to do a demn thing, but *shrugs* if I go stir-crazy, so be it, it'll be by MY choice, neh?
now, to note :
I haven't celebrated a b'day in many, many years... so why in the 7 hells do people insist that I celebrate one that only THEY feel is important?
seriously - it's just another demn day and another demn year, I may not be "old," but neither am I "young" anymore (just ask my daughters! *laughs*)
BUT there is NO way in the 7 hells that ANYone is going to get away with trying to pull some bullshiite b'day party/whatever on me, whatever "year" I'm becoming
nonetheless... in a mere 11 days the "The 39 Week [whatever] Round Up/Update"s will become "The 40 Week [Whatever] Round Up/Update"s
no, I probably won't post every week (just like I didn't during the 39s), but still... for those who even read these things, I'll continue
yes, "just for you," if you so like it (heh)
so... if, for some reason, you don't hear from me for week 52 next week, rest assured all will begin again/re-start/revive thereafter
oh, yeh... and - unless I know you REALLY well and you know I trust you - please keep your b'day wishes to yourself unless you appreciate VERY sarcastic replies (or complete ignorance of your post)
unless you want to give them NOW and get it the hell outta your system... do it before the 4th and I just may forgive ya, any closer to my actual b'day and you can GFY (really, it's just another f'n day to me and always will be, sorry but it's honesty, kiddos)
