The Assumption Mindset (Returns)
...*sighs* and it begins... again. (again)
the fact : my sister is pregnant.
the assumption : suddenly I'll be visiting more and going up there all the time to see the family, etc. etc.
where the hell do people GET this kind of mentality, suddenly assuming that this changes my world completely?
(some) people have had this same mentality when my sister died, when my mothre died, when friends died, when friends/relatives got married, had kids, etc. etc.
riiiiiiiiight. I'm gonna drop everything and suddenly become whatever everyone (supposedly) "needs" without worry about transportation or money - it'll just "happen."
like magic.

I hate to put it monetarily and be the bearer of "bad" but quite obvious news, but friends' deaths, relatives' deaths, friends/relatives' births, weddings, funerals, etc. don't suddenly whisk 1,000s of $$s into my life...
which is, quite seriously, what it would take for this to occur - that and, somehow, affecting child support - which is even more doubtful (since most of my workweek goes to CS, "duh").
my life is NOT suddenly going to change simply because so-and-so was born or died or got married, etc. etc.

Your family sounds like mine. I usually persuade them into putting money in my gas tank if they want to see me that badly. lol. My income sucks too.
