I think my swim goggles have a crack. By the end of one length there is always about a tablespoon of water inside them. This is quite annoying. I ended up just doing backstroke for ten laps--which is not much slower than my freestyle.

Next week I am gonna try to maintain a regime--cause I ain't accomplishing SFA at the moment.

I made a mistake....

Eh bien, I finally started biking to work. I like biking in the fall/winter. The ritual of suiting up, wearing just the right amount of gear so you don't arrive at work in a stinking sweat. It is only 4K, so it is not much of a work out. Any excuse not to drive--gas jumped 7 a litre last week.
Tried out some core strength...

I'm not a triathlete; I'm just a runner who is tri-curious.

One thing about us runners is we DON'T train smart. But maybe I'll give it a tri.

Continual muscle soreness is a sign that you are training just the right amount....right? biggrin

Thanks

Flux's tat....yes i have it is the shiznic; there is a board topic about it...look here

You can send me the workout anytime...I have shit loads of them lying around already from mags and online. Most likely I will just use a modified version of the 36-week training I have in Triathlete mag. I usually try to keep it simple, build up the mileage, take an EZ week every 4 weeks, Throw in a brick every 2 weeks with a build up, I stay away from overly complicated training schedules so no speed-work etc. I go fast when I feel good and slow when I don't. Just get the mileage in.

There is a guy on a fitness board that always ends his post with "train hard or go home" I wish I had thought of this as it is I refuse to steal it. I still think it is cool... look at the fitness geek. eeek

Sorry so long winded and detailed

it sucks that you have to wait for months to see this event on the networks and then the #@$%ers condense it down to 1hr. mad

I thought it was a 2 hour telecast. Regardless, it is always better live. I would have watched on the ironmanlive website, but my apple does not play version 9 of Windows Media Player. mad . Had to content myself with race updates.

My legs were actually a little sore and stiff after that run on Friday. shocked Not enough stretching (and a month of not running at all).

Kill Bill was... entertaining. The repetitious violence was slightly numbing. Awesome soundtrack!

I have a hard time remembering a movie that has kindawhelmed and engaged me. Amelie?

Bought my mom a rock for her bday. A fake rock.

Tuesday is...

Well, I finally went for a run. Felt good. Went out to Cooking Lake-Blackfoot Provincial Recreation Area. I saw one moose, who knows whatelse saw me.
There is an ultra race out there that I am pondering doing next year. Probably the 50K.

Time to go buy my mother a birthday present and perhaps see Kill Bill.

I wanna a girl who is "cool,...

The current plan is to do the great Floridian in Oct 2004. It is right around Kona so it is normally easy to get into.

We have the JFK 50 miler right here in Hagerstown, which will be my stepping stone to a 100miler whenever I get stupid enough to think that I can realistically do one.

Kill Bill is already on my to do list on my next day off... Tue.
