We have two cats we have raised from kittens. They are brother and sister from the same litter.
Their names are Miss Kitty and Garfield.
To go back a number of years, we've always had cats here. Our neighbors have always had cats. Ours are indoor cats (which escape from time to time cause they're sneaky). Theirs are outdoor cats. We had a male siamese cat at one time, and we had a male orange cat at one time. Different times. The neighbors cats were always tiger cats. We picked these two from the neighbors litter of kittens, more than 10 years after the passing of our older version kitties. You can easily see the siamese in Miss Kitty and the orangeness of Garfield. These cats couldn't be more different. Garfield is easily 3 to 4 times bigger than Miss Kitty and afraid of everything except thunder. Miss Kitty is scared of nothing, except for thunder. Miss Kitty loves to be around people, while Garfield remains aloof, unless he wants something. We can vacuum Miss Kitty. She loves it. She jumps in the shower with you. She attacks the broom. The fly swatter is her favorite toy. Fast forward a few years.
Miss Kitty discovered an old pipe in the cellar that allows access to the outside, so now they both come and go as they please. Outside, Miss Kitty is timid and stays close to the house. Garfield ranges, but if you go out, he's your best friend in the world and will follow you anywhere wanting to be patted. As soon as you open the porch door, he comes running to hang out with you. He brings in mice, moles, a bird and a chipmunk. He will eat the mice, but leaves the rest for us. Generous, I guess. Miss Kitty brings in leaves and twigs that she has slain. She's very proud of these. You can see one in her picture. She also has brought in and ate grasshoppers and moths, but mostly it's leaves. It's like night and day with their behavior inside and outdoors.
