As my friends, both young and less young, age I hear them complain of problems and issues that they have. Problems at college, problems with relationships, problems with babies, problems with growing kids, etc. There are times when it makes me smile, as I think in my head these lyrics...... "You're gonna miss this... you're gonna want this back... you're goin to wish these days......

where I am lately, we just got an x-box 360. When we went online with it, it ate up our monthly bandwidth doing updates. Still have a couple more days till it starts over. We may have to get the nephew over here to show us how to use it.

I have quickly found that satellite internet is probably the worst form of high speed internet available but sometimes its the only choice.
wizard0:
Our past internet was dialup @electriceye22 so this is a huge step up.  One of the first things I did when we got wifi, was sign up for suicidegirls.

@rambo @lyxzen I know that most people will be picking resolutions to improve themselves in some way. To lose weight, to exercise more, eat better, be more tolerant, be more forgiving, etc. All good and worthy endeavors. the more power to you, if you can stick with them. I should certainly exercise more. I should eat better. I should lose weight. I'd like to think...

Appreciating yourself sounds like a solid resolution to me!

Always a good thing, @iggy!  You are appreciated too!

You are witnessing the life stages of the Suicidegirl model. Initially, in the embryo stage, the model submits paperwork to Suicidegirls in the hope of becoming a hopeful. Upon acceptance, the model transforms into the larval stage as a Hopeful. All accepted sets from this stage are called hopeful sets. Hopefully, eventually, one of these Hopeful sets will be purchased by Suicidegirls and upgraded to...

I would love to see this diagrammed

@soraleia That would be very illustrative, but beyond my capabilities on here.  I considered myself lucky to put up a profile pic.

If you haven't already, listen to "Santa Claus and His Old Lady". Also Bob and Doug MacKenzie's 12 Days of Christmas. It's a moral imperative!

@rambo @lyxzen The best gift I ever got for Christmas was undeniably my Atari 2600. My parents went out dancing for christmas eve, and my cousin babysat me and my sister. They let up open that one gift up, and play it. Two cartridges came with it. Combat and Asteroids. I can still recall the magical feeling of playing those games, and how wonderful the...

Why does noone ever talk about the micronauts? Loved them as a kid!

dmaggot:
@wizard0 I loved the micronauts. I will take that and raise you one M.A.S.K..
wizard0:
So many action figures I had @dmaggot Captain Kirk, Spock, 2 Spiderman, 2 hulk, batman(w/removable mask), superman, Robin, joker, penguin, scarecrow and cowardly lion.  tons more that I can't think of.  Oh, the wars I had!  I had all the original Star Wars figurines too.

@rambo @lyxzen Holiday traditions would always vary on each individual holiday, but not from year to year. There were only 4 that were celebrated as real family holidays. Chronologically they were easter, the fourth of july, halloween and christmas. Easter was celebrated by church, an easter basket and an easter egg hunt throughout the house. As we aged, the candy in the plastic eggs changed...

We listened to elvis's Christmas cd too :) sounds like my Christmas just that we celebrate it on Christmas eve and open all the presents that night (i come from Germany originally)

I can honestly say that my holidays were celebrated almost the same way @wizard0 with the exception of 4th of July. We celebrated that one with a big family BBQ while playing horseshoes and swimming in the pool. All the cousins were generally together and all the adults got drunk!
