Dear [Wil]
You finished the tournament in 2nd place.
A $54.00 award has been credited to your Real Money account.
Congratulations!
Thank you for participating.
With a tiny chip lead, I made a huge raise from the BB heads-up with ATh, got called, and bet about half my stack on the A-J-9 flop . . . opponent pushes, I call. He shows 8-9, and catches runners to make the straight and send me out in 2nd place.
Not complaining at all, though, because that's poker. I played smart, and the 54 bucks puts me way ahead since I bought in over a month ago.
2nd is nothing to shake a stick at unless it's a WTA or 5-6 people, or a dollar game I suppose.
I have yet to be in a game with more than 10 people and make it to the point where I am heads up. I always, ALWAYS, find myself beaten by ridiculous crap when I have pocket Queens or Kings or some such. I suppose i should play to hold onto my chips by 5th place or so because at that point, any hand that puts me in favor gets beaten by 3 6 d catching a flush after throwing it all-in before the flop or something idiotic like that.
You're obviously doing well, frustrating as it may be sometimes. Keep it up!
