I had Puerto Rican food for the first time the other day in New York! We were drunk and rained on and ate it in the cab on the way home after a night out...it was this delicious pork and plantains dish called mofongo.
I hope they get your loan stuff sorted out. That's not right!
The friend I stayed with in New York lives right by the Brooklyn Bridge. It's such a beautiful structure. It looks like I'll be renting from a friend of mine down here in Atlanta (he has a place in Park Slope). Things are working out way too easily...I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop.

I just got to visit a little kitten I petsat earlier this summer...he's huge now! I walked in and felt something scratching at my ankles-he'd wrapped himself around them and was purring away, scratching me like a piece of furniture. I'm partial to Siamese.

I has a new tooth.
I worked until almost 1am last night, so I had the first half of the day "off" of work today and was able to go in and get my permanent crown put on (the tooth...I have not been coronated King of All Huzzit). Relativly painless process. New teeth are so neet. Porcelain crowns feel so smooth compared to real teeth....

good weekend. Working until about 2am Saturday got me off of work for the rest of the weekend. Met up with friends at the river and did a laaaaazy float down the river. good motorcycle ride down to the river and then a long lazy float down.

I'm off to Knoxville to see my dr. friend that's doing his internship up there...poor fella's homesick and stressed out. I figure it'll be a good mini-vacation.
I really want to travel more. Now that I'm working again I'm going to save as much as I can so I can get out there. Thank goodness for airtran! International travel will have to wait until I have more time, but I want to see New York again this year, in addition to New Orleans, Memphis, and Chicago. I love road trips but these days that's not exactly the best idea.

ugh.
in the last four years, I've had to have two crowns...okay now three...and three fillings that the Navy did on my while in Marine Corps bootcamp redone. it's ridiculous.

I've never had a root canal before, and I'm terrified. I wish Hot Dentist was doing it.
I don't mind getting fillings, but my face always hurts after the novocaine wears off. I'm usually okay with ibuprofen, but they give me Vicodin anyway.
Luckily, I've only needed two fillings, ever, and now this stupid root canal. It's enough to make me paranoid. I'm tempted to kick even the occasional diet soda and start using mouthwash twice per day in addition to extra flossing.
We'll see if that holds...
