I have recently rediscovered my love for cooking/baking. I have been in the kitchen almost non stop! I've recently made mock "chicken" salad, vegan eggplant parmesan, baked cupcakes and made a vegan chocolate mousse (OMG! My favorite!). Recently I have noticed that I receive a vast sense of happiness from other peoples enjoyment. When someone eats something that I have made and loves it, it...

Man, all day?
fadetoblack:
kudos to you. i feel like this ever since i graduated from college and moved up into (hopefully) another tier of food preparation and planning. i can do more than just boil water and even do a little freeforming when looking at recipe books....very liberating and gratifying.

giving someone a good slice of homemade pizza is like giving them an orgasm.

Hey everyone,

Life has been predictable and slow lately. I've been keeping busy with doctor's appointment's and physical therapy. I've also been cooking and baking quite a lot. So much so that I signed myself up for a few cooking/baking classes.Yesterday I stumbled upon a farmer's market that had the most beautiful fruits and vegetables at really good prices. I bought several pounds of eggplant,...

I've gone through a lot of changes over the last few months. Physically, mentally and emotionally. These changes have lead to make career decisions. I have decided that I would like to attend cosmetology school. I've looked into a couple of schools in Birmingham, AL but I think I would rather go to a school in another state, maybe even Canada. My problem is that...

Hey... happened onto your blog for the first time... don't know if any one ever did it for you, and I'm hardly an image expert, but here's my attempt at your request from a few blogs back...

Hope it's good enough to suit you. smile

I've been so busy. Not working much but going to the hospital a lot. I am hopeful that this head injury ordeal will soon be a part of my past. I really hope to resolve it and get on with my life.

It's been a month since my last blog and I still have nothing to say. I'm working very little and still recovering from my head injury. I spend most of my time in hospitals or at home in bed. Hopefully this will be resolved soon so I can get on with my life.

Hi! All my spa friends got their jobs through Steiner International. I believe they hire for almost all the cruise lines. The company is based in London, UK. Have you even heard of it?

The last 13 days have been a blur. I hit my head at work on April 30. I ended up in the Emergency Room and then admitted to the hospital for 6 days. Ever since then I have had headaches, blurry vision, sensitivity to noise and light, problems with concentration and memory, irritability and fatigue. I even have two black eyes. Who knew postconcussive syndrome...

Aren't you moving to PDX soon?

Here's my input on areas to live in Portland. You don't want anything east of 82nd ave (hint: the street numbers go in chronological order, so anything higher than 82 is a no go). Gresham = major no. Here's a break down on the quadrants of Portland:

SE Portland is kind of like the garden of Portland. It's full of coffee shops, cute houses, and really neat artsy stuff. Best areas to live in this quadrant are within the 82nd and Powell confines. Anything past that kind of sucks, except for one or two pockets.

NE Portland is more of family central. There are bigger houses, and more of family/community feel. However, anything near or on Alberta is pretty cool.

SW Portland downtown area. Lots of bars. Lots of noise. Really cool buildings. But there are tons of obnoxious drunks, homeless camps, and the smell of urine and vomit is pretty prominent at night. However, if you find something near Washington Park, those places can be pretty nice (that's anywhere between 20-24 aves).

NW Portland is home to the riches. If you do find something in this area, try to keep it somewhat close to 23rd ave. Anything closer to the river, is super chaotic, and not fun. Although nice, I hate walking through NW late at night.

There's my rundown.
