So, I come home early from work, and decide to check the mail. I only check it every few days, as all my bills and banking are done online, so usually all that's in my mailbox is junk. Today I go to check the mail, and there is a large envelope from a friend of ours. We helped him out a few years ago, and...

That was the sorriest excuse for a race yesterday.

light_bringer:
I totally agree! It was embarrassing. I can at least be happy about Dale Jr coming back from a lap down to finish 12th, and he's still second in points. I was also happy to see Jimmie win since he really did have one of the best cars out there. Gordon finished well too.
meh

EH?

First full day back at work and foot seemed fine. Hurt for about a minute when I started going at the job site, but then felt fine the rest of the day. Guess I just over-did it on the stairs at the water park. Luckily, I had 3 vacation days left, so I actually have a paycheck.
But now I have no vacation days until...

UPDATE: 4:20 hehehe PM
Foot: After 6 calls to the doctor to get the results, no broken bones or anomalies. I'm gonna keep off it except for trips to the kitchen and potty, and go back to some semi-light duty tomorrow. They said if it keeps hurting, they'll send me to a specialist.
Storm: No big deal, not going to be tropical,...

See sleep helped

Wow, could this day get shittier? Being that I work outside, and I'm a total geek, I'm kind of a weather junkie. I've been watching the radar all day. It sure looked like there was some circulation. Sure enough, I just checked the tropical forecast, and there is now a low spinning in the Gulf of Mexico directly off the coast where I live. So...

Which came first, the radar fascination or the living in a hurricane's path?
Keep it safe, man.

Ok, weather junkie. I need you to explain to me what the hell happened to the jetstream this year. Washington is way too cold for it to be July.
My foot is seriously fucked up. I'm going to the doctor as soon as they open. I couldn't walk 10 steps without stopping. This could be disaster if it's broken. If I can't work, I'll loose my health insurance, and I also have a family to feed. I haven't been worried about much lately, but now I'm scared shitless.

I think it's only a problem if he bought something worth 6.66. The clerk at the 7-11 is the one going to hell.

You got that locked and you're not even on the last page?
I'm confused.
And does this have anything to do with your earlier journal entry?
I'm trying to open the 1st 4 pages of the Hitler thread (interestingly enough, I JUST listened to Eric Clapton from '74 doing "Little Queenie," and in the middle of it he sang a line of "Springtime For Hitler" from 'The Producers'), but it's taking a while. While my SD has DSL, she only has 512 MB RAM to my 4 gigs, so it's still opening slowly. And she's blind, so she's not much on maintenance, and is unlikely to upgrade on her own.
But hey, she's awake!
They kicked us out though to do more tests and let her sleep.

Just in case you decide to try to reply, please be advised I have you on ignore. Not so much for the Rokko thing, because you're trying to do the "noble" thing for a friend, but more for some of your comments on...

I'm glad to hear that you're managing through the work shortage with the housing collapse. Hopefully, come November, we'll get someone that'll start making things better, rather than worse.
And like bald_eagle said, it sounds like you've got those people willing to help you out because you were there to help them out when they needed it
