My parents do not have facebooks, but it sounds to me as though your dad is just having a hard time dealing with you not being around him. It is different being a guy, though. I'd have no problems whatsoever if my parents found out I did nude modeling (I don't, but under the hypothetical situation that I did). However, I think that would be an entirely different thing if I were female.
coquettekitty:
My mom is on FB but I keep that side very general and G rated. It actually helps me because she gets to see what I"m up too and I don't have to go over everything when we talk smile I hate talking on the phone so it's a benefit to me.

As for her knowing I'm even involved in this site...nope. We've let a few close friends know but only the young hip ones who would "get it". I'm by no means ashamed or really worried they would find out, it's just a different facet of my life that I only want to enjoy with certain people smile Cuz really everyone has a little bag of weirdness...some just bigger than others smile

Day 29- In this past month, what have you learned?

-sobriety does not result in the loss of depression
-my sister is truly my best friend

flaker:
I hate to say it, but I'm not really sure that I learned much this month. sad..but true. As far as your points, I can totally see the truth in those thoughts. I would imagine that sobriety is much like religion in the way that you're led to believe that just having it is a cure-all for your ailments. Of course, the sad reality is that your inner feelings don't change, just the way that perhaps you handle them. Family is a weird thing, you don't choo choo choose them, but they are a fixture in your life. Well, for most people. I too love my family tons, and it's always nice to know that they have your back..always. I guess just knowing that someone else will be on the other end of the line is something special indeed. smile

Forty Hour Train Back To Penn is an amazing album. Along with the other stuff of course, I even dig I Am The Avalanche....but not as much. I don't remember what I was going to post..I'll have to look at your last few blogs to spark my memory. Interesting how much can change in a year and we don't even notice. I guess that's what photographic evidence is good for.....or bad for.

Awww, cutest slowest animal ever.

That is a cute little dude there. The 30 day challenge isn't a bad one...and it does help to write more, which is always good. I find myself many times with nothing really to blog about....so I don't. I was going to comment on something you put awhile back and missed the cahnce, which was only a bummer because I had a ( what I thought to be...hehe) rather interesting story to go with the question. The only bad thing about seeing your page is it reminds me that I haven't been skating or biking enough lately. frown Other than that...all good. biggrin

That's a lot of moving.

I wish more people viewed friendship that way. I feel the same. So many people treat friends as totally expendable though. (And I've been on the losing end of that mindset more than I'd like.)

Day 24- A letter to your parents

Dear Dad-

I am glad you finally got your shit together and you are ready to be there for me like I need you to be. But you have to remember that you weren't there for many years, so some things take time and some things you won't ever get.

Dear Mom-
I wish you would admit you...
