Well, I'm finally more or less healthy. I've had the nastiest cold for about 2 1/2 weeks -- coughing a lung up most of the time.
Enjoying our last days with the boy (our son, that is) before he heads back to the East Coast and then off to the south of France for most of a month (lucky bastard! ). I'm busy making haggis -- just a small batch today (about 5 pounds). We'll make another 30 or so pounds later. Wonderful stuff, haggis - it's sort of a loose oatmeal sausage. Holler at me if you want a recipe (which is appropriately adapted for what you can get in US stores). It takes a fair amount of prep time, but it's as easy to make LOTS as a little, and it reheats even better than the first time around. Fry a little up in a skillet and it's super yummy!
I'm also working on a pirate code. F'reals. I'm going to be heading up a team updating the standards for a computer language (MUMPS), and it will be definitely pirate-themed (long story that...). The procedure for developing the standard (which includes not just the document, but a reference implementation and validation suite and programming environment) is the "pirate code," and my official title as team leader is Cap'n.
I guess in keeping with both of the above I should post a picture of me in my black kilt and with an eyepatch, but I don't have one of those, so I'll make do with the firefighter memorial kilt. Happy New Year (if I don't post again before then!).

Drop me that recipe for haggis, pretty pleez. I'm ever so curious about it and have a hungry scotsman nearby who is curious as well.
