Well, that's really depressing. I post an admittedly boring entry, but with a promise to answer any questions you have honestly (which still stands, btw). After a week, guess how many people responded, with or without a question? Zero Naught Nil Cipher Goose-Egg Nada Zip. How much do I suck?
I guess I'm feeling a bit lonely and abandoned. Not for any good reason --... Read More
Believe me when I say I appreciate my friends. Friends lift you up when your down, right? I told you what you needed to here. As long as you keep the good ones around, you'll do better. Surround yourself with people who can support you, and lift you up when you are at your low point. I know thats the type of friends I have, and that includes you.
I'm actually plannin some traveling. I'll be hitting Ohio soon to visit my Aunt, and I'm going to a few other places.
We don't have to shoot for SG, we can shoot just for fun. I don't care that you aren't a official photog. I just want to shoot with you for whatever.
The bull set was a little tricky to pull off. It looks easier that what it was. It kept rocking back a fourth and such. But I think my friend JJ did a really good job. I think we may attempt again. We'll see how that goes. but I'm feeling really enthusiastic. Even though it was rejected, I absolutely love it!!
Ok, ok, way too long.. No excuse, just been busy (which is no excuse). As usual I've got nine-bajillion things going on, and so am making significant progress on none of them. Like now, for instance. I should be bending rods for an invention I hope will be patentable, I should be finishing editing and printing pcitures from a family reunion, I should be loading... Read More
Well, I'm just back from a week-long trip to Seattle. Busy busy busy there (I didn't even take my camera -- I knew I wouldn't have time and didn't want to frustrate myself). It was good though -- good meetings and got a lot accomplished. Also ate lots of really really REALLY yummy food (gotta love that Specific Northwet Nouveau Cuisine!). And, I think the... Read More
Wow, what an overwhelming response. Thank you all sooooooooo much for all the support -- you're the best!
I've decided that the friendships I have here far outweigh the frustrations, and I'm not going anywhere. In some ways this will be a Good Thing, as I'll have more time to work on other projects which have been starved for time. Who knows, after a few... Read More
I just got the following note form Napalm, the SG photography coordinator:
Hi Art,
Thank you so much for all the work you have put into SG. Unfortunately, we will no longer be reviewing sets from you in the future and have removed you from the staff section. We would love for you to remain an active member of... Read More
Gee, I really expected more comments on my last post -- silly me. I hope it's that everyone felt that what I said was obvious and needed no comment, and not that I offended anyone with my, um, non-mainstream ( ) views on death. Oh well.
This past week was exciting. At my "day job", we went live with a new version of the software... Read More
Nice to see you staying busy and out of trouble! Sounds like you have fabulous and promising things going on in your life. Awesome!
Here's a picture I came across of Flea, from the Red Hot Chile Peppers. Apparently he started up a music school in L.A. because fine arts training is so bare-bones minimal these days. I guess he's actually taking a year off to do some teaching there, too. How cool is that? Anyway, saw this photo and thought of you.
Ok, I'm really going to try and do better about posting regularly -- at least once a week. And I'm sick and tired of losing my post because I do something stupid -- I'm writing this one for the second time, so from now on (if I can remember), I'm going to right it first in WordPad and then, when it's done, cut and paste... Yeah, death sucks.
It's part of life, as you know.
Like, not in the sense that it's the opposite of life, but like it IS life.
We don't experience it that way but it's something I believe.
It sucks when people you love suffer and go away though.
I'm not saying it makes any sense to me!
Oh, and no.
Sorry.
I don't dance.
Not even if I got invited to John Travolta's wake...
Wow, so much to update. Had two fantastic shoots yesterday, with Justicia and Tart, two very different sets, but each with fantastic settings/ideas. These girls are great! Wish I could show you some previews, but since we're gonna be submitting them, well, you'll just have to wait! I have to say I really had a blast, even if it was almost 4:00 AM before... Read More
Geez. Somebody kick me when I go a month without updating.
I've been crazy busy, work, photo stuff (SG and otherwise) home, etc. Don't know what I've been doing, really, but it sure felt busy. lol
First, before I get into anything else, everybody come to our concert this Thursday! The ShowMe Brass, a 9-piece brass ensemble in which I play tuba, are putting on... Read More

Shot a couple sets with Brixton in KC yesterday. She and her buds are so much fun! I don't know which is more odd -- that I have such a great time with "the girls", or that they put up with a middle-aged dweeb like me. Whatever it is, I'm not complaining! Life is good.
Well, that last post sure garnered not interest! LOL 2 replies! (Thanks to my diehard "fans" )
Nobody likes me, everybody hates me, I'm gonna go eat worms!
Maybe not...
Soooooo..... I found out last night that we're going to get my mom's Tahoe, since she doesn't need it any more now that she's living with my brother. Especially since she's in Hayward, CA and... Read More

Wow. What a roller coaster. Yesterday my depression kicked in after a few hypomanic days. Things are a little more level now (I think). I've suffered from dysthymia with occasional depressive episodes for pretty much all of my adult life. It's largely controlled now by meds (wellbutrin and Zoloft) and occasional individual or group therapy. The hypomania is rare (I'm not really cyclothymic), and does... Read More
I would definately buy the book. It's a great idea and if anyone can pull it off, it's you man. I actually thought about buying a book like the one you're thinking of doing, but I'm going to wait for yours.
Keep on keeping on dude. You're the most creative person I've met on here.
Dude, I'd want an autographed copy of that tome without question!!!! I say go for it. Write some grants, get that funding and begin that gypsy life of yours. But be sure and bring a laptop to check in from the road. We the people at SG want the sneaky previews!
Sorry the depression snuck up on you like that. Funny how the world works. Seems we both have been ambushed by our heads as of late. I'm on the phone tomorrow to set up my next CT -- no worries.
