Can't sleep. I feel (to quote Ren) like a quivering sac of protoplasm. See, it's not sufficient for me to wake up and worry about things in my life, lately I've begun worrying about things in everyone else's life as well. I know I can't live other people's lives - I can barely live my own - but I so want my friends and loved...

It's good to be concerned about the world - if nobody's concerned then nobody is trying to make the world better and so it gets worse instead smile. It's hard to draw the line on where to stop worrying tho - mostly I figure if it's not something I'm going to actually take action on then I shouldn't let it stop me even if it is something I'm thinking about.

That's just me of course.

*hugs*

Friday morning. First day of September. For the past week I've been walking to work and feeling cool autumnal winds. It's smelled like back-to-school, more specifically I've been having bittersweet memories of university.

I just hooked up to CBC Radio One and there's some guy who's studied under a Seattle espresso guru giving pointers on what describes a perfect espresso shot. He says there are...

Thanks. It was probably that the pain wasn't going away that was scariest. That's what set off the fainting spell. But, at least there were some cute girls at the hospital. wink

Me too. It looks like I'll be stuck with children living across the street regardless. And they all looked like dog people. At least their yard is fenced, but fences only work if the gates are kept shut. I forgot to ask the landlord if he was allowing pets. It's actually a pretty good yard for dogs.

I just checked and the KPSU broadcast links are down. They may have been having problems when you tried to listen earlier. It's currently 60's psychadelic-ish music.

Proust. Sorry girl, but i found him rather pedantic to an extent that makes reading him very annoying. that's just me, the man is a great writer no doubt but just too....heavy handed for me.

I didn't realize they were sooo rare now.

thanks, lady. i'm glad they were around, too. in fact, i think the fact that they were prompted my subconscious to let it loose.

i retreat into that Philly soul pretty frequently - i hope you find some you enjoy. you can download the songs i linked directly from my journal if you like - they're in mp3 format. and i haven't forgotten about getting you that Red House Painters album. wink

It's funny. I'm 37 years old, and in the land of free healthcare, I've never had the opportunity of seeing a gynecologist. Well never that is, until today. They're almost impossible to find, and you need a referral. Today I had my first examination by a REAL gynecologist (as opposed to a gp), and let me tell you there is a world of difference in...

yes it is cool news I am so happy and in lust oops I mean love right now, we have known each other for years and I have always liked her and it is cool that we have finally hooked up at last.

wow I just read your journal entry, and I think I am going to need photos so as to reference what you are eluding to about being abnormal, I am an amateur gynecologist myself, I don't know all that much about it but am happy to take a look at it for you any time and for free.
zolta:
Ahhh specialists

There great when you can get them. I must admit though I think the referral thing is a scam for money. I went to a foot specialist once since the gp couldn't solve the problem, and found out the foot women received 35 dollars for the referral on top of her normal billing, while the gp got 25 bucks for doing up the form.

I'm just glad it worked out for you

Blargh. Can't sleep and having my usual Monday morning neurotic episode. I called surly, and I'm pretty sure I must have woke him up. No one answered, but I don't know why I thought he'd be up at 4 am.

The sun's rising and there's a tiny sliver of a moon floating beside the apartment building across the street. robot

You need to join the Nocturnal group. There's always somebody up who's posting some sort of lunacy that makes me feel better about my insomnia. blush

Sleep is strange for me. I can ALWAYS fall asleep, but it's the STAYING asleep that escapes me. I'm constantly waking up and thinking of things I should have done, making mental lists, worrying about this or that. It's maddening sometimes.

Here's to better nights and pleasant dreams. smile
groove:
Isn't everyone up at 4AM? They should be, damnit. smile Actually, you know what I've always thought we needed was 24 hour book stores. Then people like me (and apparently, you) would have someplace to go in the middle of the night. smile

I plowed through some bureacracy this morning, then emailed my lawyer. As I was reading the New York Times afterwards, something caught my eye which made me smile.

I read a review of the movie Factotum about the book of the same name by American poet Charles Bukowski. The movie looks good by the way. It's got two of my favourite actors, Lili Taylor and...

boo - for not downloading that album! wink

sounds like you couldn't have played it anyway, though. i'll see what i can do for you - this time, make sure you get it within a week, cuz the download becomes inactive after 7 days...

I haven't been online much, but I've been meaning to get on here and thank you for the card. I can't wait untill your back in town. We will throw a party for you, unless you prefer a little shindig.

I'm feeling uncharacteristically optimistic the past couple days. I think I've turned the corner on one aspect of my life which was causing me a lot of pain and worry. It's funny how when you choose to deal with something that seems hard, that once you've started, it gets easier. robot

If anyone noticed I went grey for about 3 hours. A long time ago Aaronsrod gave me a free membership. As my membership was up yesterday, I decided I should finally use it up. Thanks very much sweetie. smile

So it's the usual weekend stuff: cleaning, organizing, procrastinating.

I took out the waist high pile of recycling from under my kitchen counter and turned to dealing with the kitchen garbage. There was 2 inches of liquid brown uck in the bottom of the garbage can. I nearly puked while dumping it down my toilet (which had to be cleaned after). A few minutes of...

Yesterday I went my first day in remembered history without coffee. Stomach/chest still feels a little tricky. I made some weak coffee today. I'm not sure if I'll drink it.

I watched Rockstar Supernova last night and thoroughly enjoyed these performances:

Magni
Lukas Rossi

I think it's a tossup on who will get the encore tonight. robot

I agree with you about assessing the lay of the land before you plunder it. I think it is essential to to garner the inclination, the movement, and the scent of a body before considering entangling with it.

You put it so much better than I did!

Are you trying to quit caffeine or something?
Some time ago, I cut down to two cups a day and have found it pretty easy to stick with that. If only I could say the same for booze. And cigarettes.

I want to know what the 'YouTube' button does...

Hmm... what the fuck is YouTube?

trocc:
hey you - here's hoping that
A: you can download a large file like this, and
B: that you can play iTunes m4a files.

if either of those assumptions turns out incorrect, let me know, and i'll try something else. but here is my favorite RHP record - click the picture!
