traumatron pulls the ol' switcheroo
And oooooh, the towering feeeeeling,
Just to knooooow somehow you are near.
The overpowering feeeeeeeling
That any second you may suddenly appear!
In a stark contrast to yesterdays 'fuck me fuck this fuck you' entry - today i am charlie smiles, for Nics Pavillion set finally went up, which we shot back when the sun still shone. Ahhh.
It occured to me that that it might be quite jolly to give you a sort of 'directors commentary' special feature on the set! so, yeah:
In order to capture the idea of the 'land of the rising sun', and the fact that we didnt want anyone around ogling, the set was shot at about 6 o'clock on a sunday morning, hence we got a wonderful colour from the mighty sky orb, and casting those amazing long shadows. see #10, for instance.
one of the worst things about the set was that because the sun was so low in the sky, and because nic always had to face the light, the sun was constantly cooking her eyeballs inside her head. You'll notice shes fighting the glare in a few shots. Still, you suffer for your art eh?
where is it? its in a big park in Milton Keynes, of all places.
no, nic cannot walk in those shoes. well, not for long at any rate.
nic didnt like the set when we got home, and didnt want to submit it, and go and shoot it again. after some choice words, a little photoshopping and a fair amount of grumping about me having to drag myself out of bed far too early on a weekend- this set was submitted.
That means kiddies, that Nic believes we could have done better - and so we shall attempt to do so with the next set.
the set was shot with a 2 megapixel camera by sony. just goes to show that you dont need massively expensive equipment to get fine results - but having the benefit of photoshop is still handy.
believe or not, it takes nic quite a while to warm up to the camera. i dont help matters by being impatient, but when she strikes a certain pose, i just go: YES! and then turn into an austin powers style snapping monster, and nic steps up to first gear. we're still learning, really.
so yeah.
my girlfriend rocks. ask her nicely to read some of her short stories. they really are amazing.

reckon i should get this tattooed on my body someplace? any other ideas?
